The guy may as well have been making rabbit ears over Valerie

He did about as much for her credibility.

http://thinkprogress.org/2007/03/16/plame-covert-testimony

makes me even more disappointed when I see it how they trashed her moment.

Midge:
"don't mind me honey - its your moment ... I'm just gong to stand here and take a crap on your shoulder the whole time"

Valerie:
"never mind that pink transvestite hovering on my shouler, America, this is a moment of dramatic national significance."

1. How exactly does he affect -HER- credibility in any way?
I don't think her credibility is based opon the attire of
strangers who sit 20 feet behind her at public hearings, y'know?

7. Valerie's credibility in many circles has long been defined by strangers sitting 20 ft behind her.
... and 20 degrees of separation away from her. That's "credibility" in America for you.

I applaud Waxman for giving her the opportunity to set the record straight.

2. Whats the matter? Your Nader and Code PInk thread
did not do so well so you are starting it up again? How many threads do you need to start on one subject?

3. Even DU threads aren't supposed to get hijacked
But Ms. Plame's moment was up for grabs.

Those people would be telling us black is white and VP is the devil. I'm suprised Monica wasn't brought out. I was more outraged at the Republic Congressman asking her her party affiliation.

6. We get so little broadcast time that we often have to have more than one messenger onscreen at
the same time. Besides which, Midge probably worked her ass off to get in there harder than most of us work to do anything about this evil, murderous, lying administration.

We should ALL be on national tv demanding impeachment instead of on moderately obscure message boards bitching about the messenger.
Please do something useful instead of attacking those who stand with us.

8. unlike some people, even as demonstrated here, I have the ability to focus on more than one thing at
a time.

and, quite frankly, in view of the fact that the reason for the hearing was the illegal, treasonous actions of der chimpenfuhrer and his cabal, I think it was a perfect place to wear an "impeach bush" t-shirt, and to have the whole nation see it.

in the collective consciousness, there is a point called "critical mass" at which point an idea will be a part of the larger collective consciousness. there has to be a lot of exposure for that idea to reach that point--whether that exposure is sublimanal or otherwise. I am all for anything which will get the "impeach that bastard" message into the collective consciousness.

10. That was the first time I'd seen the video. I'd only read the transcript before.
But the hoopla about the Code Pink girl got me to watch the video, too.

And now I see that she was only standing up against the wall. What a lot of bunk over nothing.

11. I think the Pinksters screwed up in a very disappointing way.

Who cares what they wore and how they looked or who they were. What is really stinky is the manipulation and manuevering they went through to figure out how to take the eye and mental attention away from Valerie Plame Wilson, the questions she was being asked, the answers she was giving.

I was reminded of the Dade Co 2000 door pounders - passing themselves off as Dade Co residents for the camera.

Why didn't they just sit there and figure out how to get the attention of the camera people before or after without messing with Wilson?

I've read the threads and have not been convinced that it was a worthwhile protest. The way they manipulated their position was not a clever move - it was childish.
