I'm in Kansas City, Mo. Lots of the way out religious rightwingers just thought awful things were going to happen if Obama won. He's the antichrist, you know. The blacks are going to take over the country. I don't know what all. It's all doom and gloom and we will not survive.

I was telling my brother, who is in Spokane, Wa., about it all and he said that the stupidity of what is coming out of these people's mouths just kind of makes your mouth drop. Its hard to even know how to respond.

I told him I had heard that "the blacks were going to take over" and his response was "What is it that they are going to take over?" Its all just so stupid. But, boy, these people are just convinced that its the end of the world as we know it.

It would be kind of funny if it just weren't so pathetic.

1. I have some Evangelical relatives. One of

them has been sending me emails filled with the hysteria you describe. Another wrote and told me that while she didn't vote for Obama, she will pray for him and pray that he will be able to heal our country and fix the big problems. Hopefully, more will move into the second category as time passes.
