sometimes he'd argue with me about what a great choice the *insert name* repub (:argh:) was for America. *sigh*
I don't think he had any clue, while he was there, of what was actually going on here in the USA, about anything while he was there. That was over two years ago, May '06 came home, that he was there and it took a LOT of phone calls and discussions and yelling and anger and talking and LOVE not to lose my mind over his brain washing (IMHO) and then we had the nominee's and the arguing continued about going to Iraq vs NOT!! Argh! I know he was trying to make peace in his own mind but then yesterday, out of the blue; as he rarely e-mails me due to always on the road for his job and the phone calls aren't as often as I'd like them to be, for the same reason (more than twice a month if I had it my way! ;) )... he sent this e-mail to me...

7. Hey Kajsa... but he IS home... 2 years ago.... lol!
But it takes them a long time, it seems, to assimilate back into mainstream USA life, you know?

Longer then I thought it would take....

11. Oh heck- I'm more tired than I thought!
I missed those very important words " came back"

I'm soo glad he's home.

My brother took a while to acclimatize back to civilian life
when he returned from Vietnam.

I know what you are saying.

6. If you raise children that don't have their own opinions
that is a sign of bad parenting.

He has his own opinions, just not opinions I approved of, when he got back. ;)

His opinions of the Iraq War were radically different then before he left. That was the issue.

He was not for invading Iraq before he left.

13. that's sweet...what a great kid...
and you are a great mom. I think the best thing any mom could ever do is keep the line of communication open. I envy no one the chore of raising a child. But when that child goes to war, and the line of communication is so strong that it can bear that strain, that is a great mom.
