I went into one of the local saloons here in town for lunch today
The normally sour faced barmaid was all smiles. I laid my Chicago Sun-Times newspaper with the full front page cover of Barack on it onto the bar and she ran over smiling ear to ear and said, "Please let me see the photo."
She picked it up and I seen a smile come across this womans face (like a little girls smile) that just made me feel great. She went on to say that she had voted for McCain but was not upset at all with the result of the election. She said she voted for McCain because of his military background. And she knew her vote wouldn't be that important here in Obamas home state which she knew he would win by a landslide anyway.
We had a nice talk and she said that there were several old boys in last night as the results came in that she thought she was going to have to put on suicide watch. Her and I both had a good laugh.

I'm waiting to find out how my neocon coworkers were reacting to the news Wednesday morning. I'm out of the office in Chicago right now, so I won't find out how they were until next week.
