Coleman tells Franken to abandon any pursuit of a recount.
Right, Norm. Just like you would do if Franken were the one up by 462 votes. :eyes:

State girds for recount in Coleman-Franken battle

And, Al? Please don't concede before a recount.

7. Oh, even better.
Does anyone believe for a second that Coleman would be conceding and calling off a legally mandated recount if he were down my fewer than 500 votes?

Is double-checking the votes really such a fucking imposition, Norm? Oh, rihgt. You're a Repuke. Nevermind.

28. But but but - Al is costing the taxpayers money!
When Norman won decisively! Oh, and...

Ah, never mind. While I know there's hope, I really wanted Al to win. And now this situation, where Norm calls press conferences, blaming Al for demanding a recount, wasting taxpayers' money, etc. Just cannot fathom 6 more years of this guy. And, no, not for any millisecond do I believe that - if the situation was reversed - that Norm would concede blah blah blah.

I want to know what we can do to ask the Senate and State to investigate these lawsuits in Texas too. Who do I write to? Harry Reid?

11. So does MN use optiscans? I think that's true but I'm not sure.
This could be very interesting. I suspect strongly that Mondale beat Coleman in 02. The election then was conted on optiscans and the results weren't watched closely. Then, the result was just beyond the margin that would have required a recount.

Evidently, MN doesn't have a law mandating audits (or does it?).

I'll be very curious to see how the recount goes.

22. Yes, we do use opti-scan (in some precincts) here in the North Star State
And the recount will certainly be something to watch. Just put up a thread about the recount procedures here.

13. At noon, the difference was 725; at 2:15, it's 462. Why the rush, Normie?
Speaking afterward on behalf of Franken, Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak scolded Coleman for his embrace of victory, telling KSTP-TV that "we won't know what Minnesotans wanted" until the recount is complete. "There's a law here; we follow the law," Rybak said.

14. Minn. law automatically triggers recount if margin is less than 1/2% of total votes.
2.9 million voters in MN, so if my math is correct, a margin of 14,000 votes or less would automatically trigger a recount. Minnesota law.

Coleman is about as cognizant of MN law as he is of everything else in the real world.

btw, nice teeth, Norm.

As though Coleman has any business telling Franken anything, except perhaps the time of day, and I wouldn't even trust him to get that right.

I really do not like this guy.

17. If the article I linked is correct, Franken could concede and call off the recount...
Which is, of course, as everybody knows, is exactly what Coleman himself would do if the situation were reversed. :eyes:

(speaking of the mandatory recount)

Then again when have Republicans shown any respect for the law?

29. Al's not...he's going through the process
I heard his campaign manager, Andy Barr, on the local Air America program. Al is relaxing today after 2 years of non-stop campaigning. He's happy Obama won. No mention of any response to Norm's crapola. Recount will start soon (in next few weeks). Sorry, Norman, you can just sweat it out.

I wish there was something I could do though!

24. See old Repuke habits are hard to break, Norm.
Norman is using one of the old Repuke scare tactics. Doesn't work for senate races, Norm. One senator is not as critical to our government as the President is, and power is not handed over until January 2009. Your' recount scare tactics won't work.
