*** OFFICIAL STFU HATERS THREAD!******
I know this is no one here, but I need to rant for a second. Please feel free to K&R and add if you need to rant, too.

Last night was the greatest moment of my adult life thus far. We saw the light at the end of the tunnel and it's not a train. Thank God (or whoever you want), but this Republican nightmare finally has a tangible expiration date.

DUer NanceGreggs put it best here: http://journals.democraticunderground.com/NanceGreggs/459, but there are really no words to express how underhanded this administration has been from the very beginning.

Look around at Bush's America. It sucks. And it's teetering on the brink of disaster. And, now all the haters out there want to accuse Obama of pre-emptively destroying America. I don't FUCKING think so!

I had an acquaintence send me an email the other day in which he said "Is it unfortunate that
everyone doesn't have health care? Yes, but everyone has the opportunity to purchase it." What? Is he on drugs? I suppose we can all by Rolls Royce Phantoms, too, because technically, they're available to us.

I have said this over and over again and I am sick of explaining to morans what socialism is. Socialism is not making health care universally available (truly available) to every citizen. It is the right thing to do, and it will cost us less in the future. Socialism is things like nationalizing the banking industry (ahem, BushCo). I don't even know how to classify "economic stimulus" check. Bribery?

Now we've got all these people who are not millionaires, who are suffering under the crushing weight of Bush's supply side economy complaining about wealth redistribution. I'm fucking tired of my money going to the wealthy and Halliburton and ExxonMobil. I want my money to go to people who ACTUALLY NEED IT. Because, you know what? When we help the people up from the bottom, we all succeed. Even Warren Buffett has scoffed at the absurdity of this administration's tax plan.

All you McCain supporters and Freepers, who don't understand the difference between socialism and good government, go somewhere else. Oh, wait, you can't find a country that gives less to its people than America? Well, I guess you should probably just stay here.

And, while you're all complaining about "your rights" take a look around and see what Constitutional rights you even have left now. Maybe we should use Bush's rule and spy on your phone calls, arrest you without reason, jail you indefinitely without the right to see a judge, deem you an enemy combatant and send you off to Gitmo, because that is the reality of Bush's America. We can't have any less freedom than we do right now.

We're taking America back, putting it on the path of progress and I don't give a damn if you like it or not. I hated these past eight years, but I'm still alive. That's more than I can say for the thousands who've lost their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan and New Orleans. And, in eight years, you'll be alive, too. Mostly because you didn't die in McCain's Iran war.

So, all you Obama and Democratic haters STFU and sit down. You've had your chance and you blew it harder than a porn star. Today is supposed to be a good day, and I'm not going to let you ruin it!

(ok thanks, I feel better)

2. "There must be no criticism of the president. This nation is at war. "
Well, of course, that's not what I really mean.

But saying it to all the RW "superpatriots" of the last 8 years will sure be fun!

5. Ha, I know
I guess now it will be "partiotic" to critize the President. After all, isn't that what the founding fathers intended?? :sarcasm:

Hypocrisy alert!

4. their accusations are for things he hasn't even done!
How can you criticize a president who hasn't even been sworn in? You have only yourselves to blame for everything, but you still live in a perpetual state of denial.

7. Ugh.
I have a couple "friends" on Facebook who are pissing me off today. One of them is ranting at me because I posted that "I am still in a state of disbelief that this long 8-year nightmare is finally coming to an end."

She went into a whole tirade at me. Said that you can't just blame Bush for the economic crisis and went on to congratulate Democrats and Obama supporters, but then turned around and said how she was "concerned" about policy - capital gains taxes, "proabortion", (with a "don't forget I have two ADOPTED daughters!" comment) and "our right to bear arms will be challenged". I told her I wasn't just speaking in terms of the economy but was referring to the most criminal administration we've ever had. I proceeded to list the illegal war, spying and wiretapping and systematically trampling on our civil rights, torture, suspension of Habeus Corpus, Plame etc.
I then said that with regard to her "concerns" I would only say that NO ONE is pro-abortion. Only FOR the right of a woman to make choices about her own body and I pointed out that I say that as a woman who has gone through years of infertility as well (since she seemed to be saying that since she has adopted daughters she has some sort of edge on that issue?)

She flew off the handle back at me about how all my points were just "media-hyped uninformed rhetoric" and the war was illegal "only in my eyes" and "trampling on your civil rights? WHAT?!" And how she went through 7 1/2 years of infertility and "don't go there with me!" Um, excuse me, but she was the one who "went there" with me. She then had to go on about how she works in politics and has interviewed all these politicians and has even been to the White House Christmas party and shook the hands of the last three presidents (sooo, I guess that makes her views more valid than mine?) Then she threw out some stuff about "the speakers pork in the bailout" ?? and "morality..don't even get me started about Clinton..."

Another" friend" posted that she "finds it interesting how many people place the sole blame on one man for our government's woes, yet he had some of the highest approval ratings during his 8-year term? Hmmm?"

WTF is wrong with these people? And I find it interesting how the one friend blamed my views on "media-hyped uninformed rhetoric" yet I have heard almost nothing about any of those issues in the MSM and most people I know in real life know next to nothing about any of those issues for that very reason.

Yes, I REALLY, REALLY want these people to STFU!!!

8. I might have to turn off facbook today
I really want to kick some of my "friends" in the teeth.

BTW, I created a group "I will unfriend you if you vote for John McCain." I'm thinking about taking that into action.

9. Yeah,
I'm considering "un-friending" her. Or, at the very least deleting the whole exchange from my wall. Though it's been up for a couple hours now, so I suppose many have seen it by now. I haven't replied to her last screed. I figure "what's the point?". You can't reason or argue with these people. They claim we are uninformed and wrong-headed and we think the same of them. No matter how many FACTS you present they always claim it's tainted or wrong in some way or that it's just "your opinion".

The divide in this country has really gotten deep and nasty and I don't know how it will ever come back together.

My son told me this morning I'm acting like Zoloft kicked in!

I finally have a big, broad smile, a bounce in my step and an over-all wonderful and overwhelmingly huge belief in optimism once again!

I AM SO HAPPY!
:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

For those who say the horrific damage Bush's* administration has inflicted upon America is just MSM hype -HA! The partisan MSM never covered the bad news! So I say this: Go read the Patriot Act, FEMA changes, and any number of new or rewritten rules, regulations, and codes within the Federal Gov't. Go ahead, I dare each of you ignorant enablers. If President Obama did to you what Bush* did to us, you'd shit your pants.

I AM JUST SO HAPPY!
:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Edit: In my pure happiness, I forgot to complete a sentence! Because:

I AM JUST SO HAPPY!

17. I actually cried when I got into work this morning
Yesterday, before I left, I set my background to Obama, and today, it' really true. There are just too many people who don't see this as a victory for all America, which it is. They set me off, so I had to get it out, but I'm back to happy now :)

13. There's nothing they could say to ruin my day; in fact, I'm savoring their heartbreak.
The 8 years of neocon insanity was insufferable. If they want to tear down a new presidency that will also serve their best interests, then that also pleases me.

They spent the last 8 years not enjoying the fact that their boy king was ruling the land, but building up their hatred of those who protested fascism. Now that we'll have someone in the White House who looks out for my interests, I'm going to savor each day of the next 4, hopefully 8, years & I promise you I'll care less what those ignorant masochists think or say.

14. You said something very true, and sobering
and, a very sad, disturbing fact:
They spent the last 8 years not enjoying the fact that their boy king was ruling the land, but building up their hatred of those who protested fascism.

I told my son today that the old way of the right, and the Palin-way nastiness isn't going to work anymore. America has spoken. The self-proclaimed "real" Americans can now join the all-inclusive Americans.

19. They were always on the defensive because they knew they were wrong.
When President Obama governs as though this is "the government of the people, for the people, & by the people", I'll be so overwhelmed with pride that freepers' bruised egos will be of no concern to me.

Good to see ya, dmr! :hi:

18. The haters will always go on the offense because they have no defense.
Some people say, "the best defense is a good offense" and I agree, but I believe this is particularly true if you literally have no defense.

This is why the haters hate, this is why they're incapable of being gracious and this is why they never learn; spewing hatred makes it impossible for them to listen.

I see at least two levels, the haters and the the hater manipulators, Limbaugh may be a hater, but he's definitely a hater manipulator. I believe his job as he sees it is to magnify and or fan hatred for the purposes of self-aggrandizement, greed and power. This is why he became threatened by McCain's concession speech, if the Republican Party were to change course and abandon hatred as a means of empowering them selves instead of positively working to empower the public good or nation, Limbaugh would loose power.
