One from down the road (Cowarts, Al), one from Dallas, Tx, one from SLC, Utah, and one from Humbolt County, Ca. Guess which one voted Republican? If you guessed Al, Ut, or Tx, you're wrong. ALL FOUR of them said to me today, this is OUR Kennedy. And I'm totally feeling that. I've been crying for hours. My girls are smart, but they're young. They don't understand what kind of victory this is for them. The repudiation of Sarah Palin. And it's more than that even. It's looking like my very very red Congressional district is fixing to elect it's first Democrat in...I don't even know how long. Pretty much forever. He ain't much of a Democrat, but damn, it's a step in the right direction and something I never thought I'd see happen. Two years ago a few people tried to talk me into running and I said no way. The district was definitely not going that way. And now, now, just 24 months later, we're on the verge of sending a Dem to DC. This is just such a huge swing. I'm loving it. I am so happy and proud and giddy tonight. It's just been an awesome, awesome night!
