Funny what puts one over the edge. When Obama took the hand of Joe's mother and led her to the front of the stage, I completely lost it. She became my own mother .... and Toot ...... and every eldrely parent watching their kid make good ..... and then I flashed on it a different way. She was, for a moment, Toot's surrogate.

All silly blatherings and foolish thoughts ..... and all at the cost of several tissues.

4. It "hit" me when we received congratulations here on DU from Iceland.

The world was watching - again. We got it right this time.

When our fellow DUer from Iceland posted; I knew it was real.

Weird the things that will set me off.

My poor SO. I think he's trying to keep cynical and "manly." I keep crying on his chest. He's grabbed the tissue box a couple of times, too. :D

He and I would have had a great - and loud - debate.
