CBS in Philadelphia just said there's something like 2,000 people celebrating on Broad Street.

5. It's happening all over the WORLD!
I'm curious to see just how much of a bounce the world's opinion of the USA takes. We have a lot of work to do to erase the worst eight years in our history, so let's get started.

9. In Oakland a friend's neighborhood is alive with people cheering and horns blowing.
Just got a call, and still, two hours later, the hills and valleys are alive with the sound of hope and celebration.

As for "when before?" the answer is never before.

11. I'm here in an African-American neighborhood in the city of Pittsburgh, PA
Lots of screaming and cheering outside when the announcement was made - we thought something was wrong outside until the graphic came on the screen on CNN! Still hearing fireworks and yelling outside. Everybody is extremely happy here!

25. I just got back from East Liberty..
Highland & Baum... The Shadow Lounge and that one around the corner on Highland that connects to it. They had a huge wide-screen with Obama's acceptance speech, followed by a dance party. Crowd was overflowing into the street... cars blowing horns... everyone totally psyched.

My daughter goes to FSU (I'm in Palm Bay, about 5 hours away) and she called me after it was called for Obama. There was a whole lot of horns blowing and people cheering up there! :)

17. Anybody for a few verses of "Dancing in the Streets"?
Callin' out around the world
Are you ready for a brand new beat?
Summer's here and the time is right
For dancin' in the streets
They're dancin' in Chicago
Down in New Orleans
Up in New York City

All we need is music, sweet music
There'll be music everywhere
There'll be swingin', swayin' and records playin'
And dancin' in the streets

Oh, it doesn't matter what you wear
Just as long as you are there
So come on, every guy grab a girl
Everywhere around the world
There'll be dancin'
They're dancin' in the street

This is an invitation
Across the nation
A chance for the folks to meet
There'll be laughin' and singin' and music swingin'
And dancin' in the streets

Philadelphia, P.A. (Philadelphia, P.A.)
Baltimore and DC now (Baltimore and DC now)
Yeah don't forget the Motor City (can't forget the Motor City)

All we need is music, sweet music
There'll be music everywhere
There'll be swingin', swayin' and records playin'
And dancin' in the street, yeah

26. Thousands took to the streets after Bu**sh** was "elected".
Wouldn't it be nice if Michael Moore added some footage of today's celebrations as a postscript to "Fahrenheit 9-11"?
