The yolk's on Aggie student group after 'Anti-Obama Carnival’
We knew that sooner or later in this American presidential campaign, somebody was going to do something really stupid.

We might have guessed where:

College Station.

First, a 20-year-old College Station woman was convicted in Pittsburgh of faking a story about volunteering for John McCain and getting attacked by a tall African-American Obama supporter.

She won’t be coming home to the heart of Aggieland anytime soon. A court ordered Ashley Todd into mental treatment.

Now, a Texas A&M student group known as the class clowns of conservatism has staged a stunt that even their own faculty adviser calls "really dumb."

The A&M chapter of the Waco-based Young Conservatives of Texas sponsored an egg toss Wednesday and again Friday.

But not just your typical Aggie barnyard egg toss. A&M students were offered a chance to hurl eggs at a giant photo of Barack Obama.

It was all part of a messy little campus publicity stunt called an "Anti-Obama Carnival" — with the Soviet hammer and sickle added inside the "O" in Obama.

4. College Station is an embarrassment
Native Texan here. The Aggies are, for the most part, a bunch of backward, dead-dog worshiping, paramilitary fetishists.

Yeah, I'm a University of Texas grad. Why do you ask? :P

Srsly, I'm not surprised this came out of College Station. They should secede from the state, for realz.

Peace!

6. Hey - SWT - OK, now TxSt - grad here - couldn't agree more with you on A&M...
too conservative, too militaristic, too much nutty tradition (even though in general I LIKE 'college tradition'), too... lots of things. I'm not much of a sports fan any more, but I'm pretty much for whomever A&M is playing... I love to hear when they get beat. :^)

16. Yup.
UNT Eagle here. They're IDIOTS. With the exception of a few folks like Henry Cisneros, Lyle Lovett, and Robert Earl Keen, they're militaristic dipshits.

My stepmonster wanted me to go to A & M. The asshole didn't know me at all. I ended up studying art, working in a record store, and becoming the world's biggest liberal. Yeah....I would have fit in there REALLY well.

18. Can we make exceptions for veteranarians?
For years & years, A&M was the only university in Texas you could attend if you wanted to be a vet. I've taken my furkids to lots of Aggie vets & they were all good. :)

But yeah, all that "tradition" drives me nuts. I'm glad some of the families of the kids who died building the bonfire got millions. I remember how the alumni association "rushed" those families, begging them not to sue the school because it would hurt the moral of the corps or some shit like that.

10. They fucked that up too! And what a colossal waste of trees, not to mention an insanely
over-the-top giant stupid thing anyway! When I read about how big those bonfires were, when the tragedy happened several years ago, I got really pissed off at how big/stupid/overdone the thing was to BEGIN with!

14. Sorry but those guys are giving Aggies a bad name.
Speaking as a family alumnus of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University... (one graduated, one unfortunately defected to ECU and that would be me :( )

I know it's different "aggies" but there probably isn't many McSame supporters on NC A&T SU campus. Nor UNC-G for that matter. Now Elon... oh dear.

Mark.

20. They think they are a real military academy...they're not.
They just love to dress up and play soldier.

The Aggies I know (engineering/math/physics majors) would have NOTHING to do with all that militaristic shit.
