Personally I dont see how bird watching can be entertaining without mushrooms.

1. Flushing things into the air goes a bit beyond watching
Douchebags.

2. Yup. Flushing birds is a practice more associated with
hunting. Douche nozzles indeed.

3. I'm a bird watcher
myself and the owl out back does cut down on the show. But he's pretty cool himself.

4. some birders can be utter twits ...
I'm a birdwatcher, and have heard story after story of some birders trespassing on private land, destroying private property, illegally parking, and worst of all stressing out the target bird. It's quite disgusting. If I ever see a rare bird on private land (and maybe public land, depending on the specific location of the bird), I'm not going to publicize it, just quietly report it to the few people on the local records committee so they can officially verify and document it. The actions of a few idiot birders have ruined it for everyone.

For people unfamiliar with birding: the reason the burrowing owl got attacked by the Cooper's Hawk is because birders attracted attention to it, and brought the burrowing owl, already in a weakened state, to the Cooper's Hawk's attention. Birders viewing a rare bird need to be extremely careful about how they do it. They must never do anything that could harm the bird. Most birders are responsible people who do the right things, like keeping a safe distance and respecting private property, but the few irresponsible twits who don't give a damn about the welfare of the bird and property rights, will do anything to see it, just so it can be entered on their life-list or state-list. They ruin it for everyone!
