I've been waiting all my adult life for this.
A crushing Democratic victory. I just wish the problems facing the new government were not so gigantic.

1. From your mouth
to God's ears. I'm not going to start celebrating until November 5. I guess the last crushing victory was LBJ in 1964. I was alive but I don't remember it.

2. I was born in 1967, but the first election I remember was 1976.
My parents were for Ford. Carter won, but if I remember right, the Rs controlled the Senate. Anyway, I didn't start following it closely until 1984.

4. The day Ford pardoned Nixon is the day I quit being involved in politics.
That lasted until Bush whacked the election in 2000.

I winced at Kerry, was so so with Gore, but Obama....my goodness...deja vu all over again.

THIS is what the 60's felt like...only meaner

This time the stakes are incredibly high on so many levels.
