Yet another puff piece on McCain on NPR...
... it's astounding how unbalanced NPR has become. They have this right wing joker, in talking about McCain's book(s), is going on and on about how great and wonderful McCain is - without ever mentioning the obvious flaws that are completely well known. You won't hear anything like this about Obama.

I wish there was something we could do, besides withholding funds which I have done since 2002, to stop this horrible slide to the right.

1. I've heard tons of stuff on NPR praising Obama over the past few months
I listen to public radio programming about 6 hours a day, 5 days a week, and what I hear is still slanted left.

2. NPR had a similar story on Obama yesterday and it was the same
guy and it was quite favorable to Obama.

4. Well..
... I've been listening most mornings (not so much in the afternoon) and the coverage of McCain's campaign is much heavier than Obama's.

At least it seems that way to me. I wish I had time to study and quantify the coverage.

If just always seems like they intentionally undercut Obama. For example, when on the Letterman show, Dave asked "how is Ayers any different than Liddy?", they left the zinger out.

With news, its not what you cover, it is what you don't cover.

6. And they replay on NPR the nastiest sound clips
pairing negatives on Obama w. favorables for McCain constantly.

I'm sick of it!

3. Elections Have Consequences...
If Democrats are successful in sweeping to power next week, that means control of the CPB...the Corporation For Public Broadcasting who governs NPR. The corporate was stacked with GOOP toadies who've long wanted to get in control of this agency...hopefully many will return to judging horses or burning books and will be replaced by Democrats in the next year.

5. Two things you can do:
1. When they're fund-raising (which is almost always
these days), call them up and remind them why you
are no longer a donor and exactly what they would
have to do to get you back as a donor, and

2. Join their listener advisor panel (it's open for new
members right now and the link is somewhere on
their website. And if you can't find it, PM me.)

7. I love our Wisconsin Public Radio, and I do give to them......
during their fund raising time. NPR, not so much, can not stand the Neal Conan's arrogant attitude. But our local people are pretty good. Kathleen Dunn for sure, love her.

8. Call during their next beg-a-thon and tell them why you won't be...
donating. Be controversial enough that the volunteers in the bull-pen talk about it during breaks or when calls are sloooooooowww.........

There's a group of 4 of us here in Otown get together for dinner and do it as a group. Things might change though with a new FCC chairman.
