I know what McCain means in his counter commercial when he says Obama's 'not ready YET'
from McCain's incredibly cynical counter-ad to Obama's commercial tonight: http://voices.washingtonpost.com/the-trail/2008/10/29/mccain_ad_addresses_obama_tv_s.html

"The fact is Barack Obama's not ready ... yet."

I say, move over you old bigot. I heard talk like that all of my life. I wouldn't get anywhere if I listened to the cynics and the doubters. We're ready and anxious for Barack Obama to shepherd our country into the future.

1. obviously the consensus is this is some softening from McCain

How could anyone be so naive to think the man who's called Obama a socialist (meaning: he'll give everything away to blacks) and a communist (he's not American) isn't appealing to those who don't believe it's time YET for a black man to run the country.

Sorry if folks are offended by the utter disgust and anger I feel towards these months of race-baiting, dog-whistling tactics from McCain/Palin. So much more to say . . . I can understand, though why many folks are reluctant to see things through the lens I've chosen.
