8. With your health they made you stand in line?
Ours are always pretty short here (I think the worst I've ever seen was about 15 mins at the height of the after-work rush in '04, but people are pretty good about letting unhealthy people and elders move up to the front.

Can you talk to your county people about getting permanent absentee status? We have it for everybody now, but it used to be any elder or disabled person could get it with a note from their doctor. I should think they'd have something like that, as standing in line probably isn't the best thing for you, and that could be a liability for them.

But good for you for getting out there in trying circumstances, and I hope you and the Mrs recover quickly.

12. I was amazed that there was a machine set up outside my polling place
for people with handicapped license plates. They didn't even have to get out of the car. The poll worker could dislodge the top of board, and take it right to the person waiting in the car. I've never seen that before.

I still would have asked if you needed moved to the front of the line.

14. We have optical scan machines, so we take them their ballot on a clipboard.
Most people who aren't ambulatory vote absentee though, so we barely ever have to do that.

22. we were enjoying being outside together.. fall leaves changing, we were at the edge of a wooded area
it was nice to be together outside the house. we have both been limited to going anywhere for a while.. and we both were desperate to vote against the Fascists. it felt good to have a chance to have a future..

we have had 4 good jobs outsourced, and moved 3 times chasing less paying jobs since Bu$hitCo overthrew the government. and my wife is losing her "Good Job" again at Sara Lee to china.. we may have to Foreclose on our house before next summer.. doesn't look good.

i work in Aerospace...:hide: and worry about my job too.. due to the economy and my injury, tho i have still done more and better work with a paralyzed hand than anyone else on my line since the injury last oct. i'm an Aspi and a technical/mechanical savant.. no one else has any attention to detail where i work except me.. people come to me to solve problems instead of engineering..they are clueless.

i'm making all sorts of specialized tools for my prosthetic for when i get it. i hope to start a Web Business selling them. only problem is that i have an IQ of 164.. but i'm functionally illiterate , i am Lucky to have good verbal skills in my ASD, . i am limited to mechanical work. building the website is a problem.. going to ask my niece to help me.

it was nice day

31. Glad you could enjoy the day! And thanks for voting.
Our poll workers patrol the lines and anyone who is at all uncomfortable, ill, elderly, whatever, is invited to go to the head of the line. I took two women to vote last week, the 81 year old lady was taken straight to the front. I still finished voting before she did and went into the lobby to wait. While I was sitting there, a poll worker offered to let me go to the front.

AS for your web site, see if there are any programs teaching web design at schools or colleges in your area. Often the instructors are looking for projects for their students. I've seen offers on Craigslist.org for free web design work for programs like that. And with an instructor checking the work, it will get done correctly.

10. I applaud you Good Sir....
and best wishes to you and your wife for speedy recoveries. I, too, voted today in High Point. I've never used this early voting site before, but was pleased to see all the young people there. I was in & out in about 45 mins. There were at least a dozen machines, and the poll workers were very friendly and helpful.

Again, I wish great things for you and the Mrs.:grouphug:

19. Thank you for your service!
I certainly appreciate what you did as much as I do all the heroes who have put their asses on the line in military service to this country.

This election to me is as worthy a cause as was the American Revolution itself!

Thank you!

Doing this to the sick, injured, elderly, single parents, double-jobbed citizens is a betrayal of democracy.

Thanks for your service
