Interesting small phenomenon this week in Denver suburb
I live in a western suburb of Denver that is somewhat repuke, but not totally infested like, say, the southern suburbs.

About three weeks ago in my neighborhood, surrounding a wonderful park, a few mcsame signs began to appear in windows. (Due to townhome covenants, yard signs are not allowed in most places.) They were outnumbered by Obama signs about 2-1 or 3-1.

This week several of the mcsame signs have disappeared from the windows. It is not a case of vandalism or sign theft. These are signs inside people homes, taped to the windows at the front of their houses. I have an Obama sign displayed the same way.

Why would the idiot fringe suddenly be ashamed of their old white man?

1. Maybe they've changed their minds!
I'll be curious to see how people voted here in north Lakewood. We live just south of Crown Hill Lake.

3. Crestmoor resident.
Pretty solid Obama area, 4-1 in signs, I'd estimate.

10. I've seen lots of Obama signs around here, too
And knock on wood but no one has stolen our Obama, Perlmutter or Udall signs.

7. I used to live in Lakewood.
Now I live in SE Denver, not far from DU. I counted the number of signs on my street for about 6 blocks and the Obama signs outnumbered McCain signs by about 3-1. Of the houses where I know the residents, the McCain signs are on houses where retired people live. I don't think they understand that McCain does not care about them except for their vote.

8. The mcsame signs that I know of
are all on old folks (not all retired, some still working, but 70-ish) except for one, who is the classic redneck viet vet freeper type.

11. Take heart. We're retired and cast our votes Dem all the way!
Your area must look gorgeous these days with all the lovely homes and the trees turning colors. My chiro is at Evans and Oneida. I only drive down there every few months. On pretty days I take Evans all the way west instead of taking I-25. Such a pretty drive.

9. Great shopping down there these days!
I have to keep myself from driving down to the Michaels crafts.

The area stores have come a long way since the Villa shopping center of the "old days" when I first moved to Colorado. :D

12. Belmar is cool
but expensive. I really like the development although the corporateness gives me the creeps sometimes.

I love our park and the lake.

2. Because McCain is still an idiot
and people doesn't want to associate themselves with an idiot.

4. Interesting!
I'm not far from you (north Lakewood) and I've seen similar things.

The best was when my fundie neighbor put out an Obama sign a couple weeks ago! I was shocked! It was a great lesson on how important it is not to stereotype.

Not one McCain sign on mt street I'm happy to report!

5. Pile on effect
My theory is people, (especially mindless, follow the leader lemming rethuglicans), don't want to be associated with a loser. We will see Obama's momentum increase in these closing days and former McCain supports may vote for Obama just to be part of the winning team. At worst a lot of these rethugs are going to sit this one out. I FEEL LANDSLIDE!

13. Obama is/was beating McCain in the sign war in Colorado Springs too
I left at the end of August but my mom assures me that things are still decidedly in our favor. Not that Obama's going to carry El Paso County, but there's a definite enthusiasm gap.

14. I think Colorado will pick who becomes president.
And right now every source I've checked says they're leaning Obama. :woohoo:

16. There seemed to be a "surge" in mcsame support about two weeks after the repukefest
in Minnesota,

but I think Obama has a pretty strong edge here.
