Trig Palin: Who's the mama?
Will we ever find out? Does it even matter?

I think the truth will be revealed when Sarah writes her post-loss book.

1. Or, until 2012 when she decided to run on her own "record"
Edited on Wed Oct-29-08 12:46 PM by question everything
whatever it is.

Either way, I don't think it matters. Not now.

2. Yup.. the NE let us all down.. they sure dug it all up on Edwards, though.. didn't they?
The one I feel for, is that poor little baby.. Handicapped children need a Mom who's involved 110% in their lives...Sarah will never be that:(

20. Yup
Let's get back to criticizing moms who pursue a career. Because that's the real spirit of the Democratic party. (sarcasm).

34. or at the very least, have the common sense to know when to "hold 'em & when to fold 'em"
Edited on Thu Oct-30-08 03:04 PM by SoCalDem
especially when a very vulnerable & young handicapped baby is at issue....grandson or son..

Her hypocrisy and hubris that I referenced, has NOTHING to do with "attacking a poor widdle Mommie who's trying to "put food on her family", or who's being subjected to sexist "attacks"...

She an attention-craver, who is perfectly willing to USE her "family" when it suits her, and even MORE willing to jettison them to raise each other when she's gotten to the latest level of achievement for HER..

Most women in her position, would have said "thanks but no thanks" to McCain, and then worked as hard as she could to get that baby all the help he needed, while she toiled away at the governorship she wanted so much. The low population and relative isolation of Alaska could have allowed her to "do it all", with little scrutiny...Her approval rate could have continued to be high, and later on, after McCain lost (which he would have no matter who was his running mate), she could have challenged for Murkowski's seat and risen on her own, if she chose to "go national"..

11. Could be any number of reasons...
messy pregnancy/birth dates that don't fit with the official story...
a little post-partum nippage and tuckage, or perhaps a little breast boost...
"mental health" issues...

21. Yes
Medical records are confidential. That's a good enough reason for ALL candidates not to release their medical records. It's a non-issue.

28. I've got a problem with that.
I love the concept of privacy, but the health - mental and physical - of arguably the most powerful person on earth is vital to all of us.

I don't believe holding a person's mental health history against them is fair... except for the highest offices. The person literally has his/her finger on the button!

I don't believe having had cancer should be held against anyone, but again, if I vote for a person, I need to know what the chances of the disease recurring are.

We're not just talking about a job applicant here.

30. I agree
I'm not saying medical history is not important. Yes, I do want some confirmation from a doctor that a candidate has no SERIOUS medical illness or mental health illness that could reasonably impact on his/her ability to do the job. But I don't think a candidate should release all of his/her medical records.

I think what Obama did is perfectly sufficient -- release a brief summary of medical history without actually releasing the medical records. We have no business probing into the minutiae of a person's health, but we should get some assurances that the person is healthy.

32. Yup... all the details of
colonoscopies and pap smears NOT needed.

How about and independent panel of docs - sworn to Hippocratic secrecy - looking thru them and certifying OK to fly?

6. Who's the mama is irrelevant...
I will take her at her word.

What is relevant is her actions once her water broke, during a high risk pregnancy, before a planned speech (which she went on to give) hundreds of miles and hours away from home (where she went, rather than deliver at a local hospital (which was far better equipped to tend to her high risk pregnancy than flight attendants on the multiple flights she took to get home). Those actions illustrate her extremely poor decision making abilities and are relevant to selecting someone who will need to be making decisions on behalf of all of us.

9. She was trying to kill the baby...
either that, or she wanted him to be born in alaska so he wouldn't be an American citizen if Alaska seceded from the US...

I personally think she wanted to kill him. Abortion may be wrong to her, but hey, it's 'gawd's will' if he died during birth, right??

It's not too hard to figure out...

14. Regardless of her motives,
it demonstrates her poor judgment and decision making ability. Those characteristics are relevant to whether I want her on 72 year old heartbeat away from the nuke-u-lar controls (or anything else I care about).

15. Yeah. Can you imagine
What it must be like growing up with that crass, fundamentalist Lady McBeth as a mother? A Louis Vuitton purse is no compensation for the kind of respect and love I picture the Obama kids getting daily.

16. This isn't an attack on the kids....
It's a question about honesty. If there was a cover-up and Bristol had trig, there should be some accountability. The kids are knee deep in this campaign already as Palin brings them everywhere on the taxpayer's dime.

18. I think it is her sister
The one that was married to the trooper.

The baby would have been a life long tie to him .

I believe that is why no medical records have been forthcoming

23. Who cares?
There are 4,356,780 other issues with this candidate. Focus on the ones that matter. Such as her radical theology, hate for homosexuals and the fact that she thinks Jesus will return in her lifetime.

Will we ever find out who Trig's mother really is? Who knows? Does it matter? No. Let's focus on the important issues and try not to sound as crazy as the folks at another certain political discussion forum.

26. Trig's mother is Sarah Palin
Downs' syndrome is far more likely in the child of a 40+ mother than a 16 year old one.

29. That was my thinking also when this first came out,
but after reading up on Down Syndrome I saw this article and can't seem to be able to get past this.

http://www.arizonamethproject.org/newsandevents/view_article.cfm?ID=51

(snip)
Another young woman, currently incarcerated at the Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections’ Black Canyon School, shares that she is pregnant and will have to be handcuffed to the hospital bed when her baby is born. Now, the young woman says she is forced to grapple with the myriad potential health problems with her unborn child because of her Meth use, including the possibility of Down syndrome.
(snip)

Now this is not to say that this is conclusive that Bristol is the mother, just that it doesn't rule out that possibility. There seems to be too many gaps in time frames and other (for most people) unusual events, namely the reputation Wasilla may have as a meth hub, Bristol's absences from school, and her time spent with relatives that I just can't seem to get past.

I guess then it leaves me with an unanswered question?

If the baby is Bristol's and both she and the father were using meth at the time of conception would that increase the chances of the baby having Down Syndrome?
