***** Official "When Will Ted Resign?" Thread ***** or "Felons R US!"
I'm placing my bet on Nov. 5th, if at all.

OR, just maybe, the Corrupt Bastards Club is thinking about a new motto, "Felons R US!"

Meanwhile, according to the NYT, "The Alaska Republican Party on Tuesday found itself in the awkward position of urging voters to return a convicted felon to the United States Senate."

FOLKS: THE REPUBLICANS WANT TO ELECT A CONVICTED FELON. Like WOW, except much, much louder!

THE REPUBLICANS WANT TO ELECT A CONVICTED FELON
THE REPUBLICANS WANT TO ELECT A CONVICTED FELON.
THE REPUBLICANS WANT TO ELECT A CONVICTED FELON
THE REPUBLICANS WANT TO ELECT A CONVICTED FELON.
THE REPUBLICANS WANT TO ELECT A CONVICTED FELON
THE REPUBLICANS WANT TO ELECT A CONVICTED FELON.
THE REPUBLICANS WANT TO ELECT A CONVICTED FELON
THE REPUBLICANS WANT TO ELECT A CONVICTED FELON.
THE REPUBLICANS WANT TO ELECT A CONVICTED FELON
THE REPUBLICANS WANT TO ELECT A CONVICTED FELON.

Top Republicans call for Sen. Stevens to resign
CNN - 1 hour ago - http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/10/29/stevens.gop/

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has joined other top Republicans in calling for convicted Sen. Ted Stevens to resign.

Earlier on Tuesday both members of the Republican presidential ticket -- Sen. John McCain and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin -- as well as other Republican senators called on Stevens, R-Alaska, to step down.

While campaigning for re-election on Tuesday, McConnell, a Republican from Kentucky, told reporters that Stevens should step down immediately, according to McConnell's spokesman Dom Stewart.

McConnell is in a tight race with his Democratic challenger Bruce Lunsford. .............

6.  Palin Is Not Ted Stevens’ “Close” Political Ally? Depends On The Definition Of “Close!"
Palin Is Not Ted Stevens’ “Close” Political Ally? Depends On The Definition Of “Close!"
Reported by Priscilla - October 29, 2008 - http://www.newshounds.us/2008/10/29/_palin_is_not_ted_stevens_close_political_ally_depends_on_the_definition_of_close.php

Fox News is doing all they can to promote the McPalin candidacy and that includes doing some damage control. According to Brit Hume, it appears that “some in the media have decided that the conviction of Republican Senator Ted Stevens of Alaska is a referendum on Sarah Palin.” ... “while Palin said in July she had "great respect" for Stevens, they have not been close political allies.” Well, not so fast, Brit; it’s not quite as simple as you might think. But then “Grapevine” is all about propaganda in short, simple soundbites.

7. Is Palin angling for Stevens senate seat?
Is Palin angling for Stevens senate seat?
Posted by Michael Rollins, The Oregonian October 29, 2008 - http://blog.oregonlive.com/nwheadlines/2008/10/is_palin_angling_for_stevens_s.html

The Alaska Dispatch, an online only news outlet, posts this speculative piece on an ulterior motive for Sarah Palin to have Ted Stevens disappear. She wants the job. The link to the story first came to our attention via Seattle-based ejournal Crosscut.com.

Governor Sarah Palin just issued an updated statement on Sen. Ted Stevens' guilty verdict, saying "the time has come for him to step aside." But what stands out most is the next sentence in her statement. "Even if elected on Tuesday," Palin says, "Senator Stevens should step aside to allow a special election to give Alaskans a real choice of who will serve them in Congress."

Should Stevens emerge the winner next Tuesday and then resign, guess who might get to appoint his temporary replacement?

Governor Palin.
