So if Virginia goes for Obama is the election over?
Virginia is being declared a must win for McCain. It is one of the first states we will get returns from. If it goes to Obama should we pop the corks and start our celebration?

2. I don't see how it could be any other outcome.
There really is no way McCain can win at this point and his campaign knows it.

20. Having played a good bit of poler in my life, I'd modify that saying
just a bit to "Never count your money until the hand has been won."

21. You never count your money when youre sittin' at the table.
There'll be time enough for countin' when the dealin's done.

4. There are more scenarios than that ...
Obama wins if he keeps Pennsylvania and wins ANY of the battleground states; Florida, Ohio, North Carolina, Virginia, Colorado ...

There are so many paths to victory this year .... I believe we will see it through this time ...

BTW: Virginia is the one state I think Obama is DEFINITELY going to win ....

5. I think the real determinant is North Carolina. If NC goes blue then McCain needs to pack a bag.

6. No but its a good indication
I'm going to celebrate when that happens (notice I don't say if) and I'll celebrate again when we get to 270 electoral votes (probably when Colorado or New Mexico are declared)

7. I THINK WE HAVE TO BE VERY CAREFUL...
if by 9:00 pm EST it appears Obama has won all the needed 'red' states on the east coast those in other time zones might not turn out...ON OUR SIDE!!!

if we assume he'll hold all the kerry states and because it looks like iowa is a lock, then va would put him over the top

15. PA and VA (or NC) + IA will put us over 270 without any other swing state.
Even in the unlikely event of a sea of red in the others.

23. I would say if he wins VA then
it's pretty much a done deal..however I do worry about PA...I think that is the one of the two places they will try to cheat...that and Colorado. I don't think they would be putting all that time and money into PA if they didn't think they had a plan to take it away. For me the confirmation that the election is stolen would be an Obama loss in PA
