3. Because there is no prohibition on convicted felons running for office.
At least not for Senate in Alaska, and even if there were, he could probably get enforcement stayed while his case is on appeal.

Besides, it is good that the refuglican idiot on the ballot is a convicted corrupt asshat, that helps the Democratic Party candidate win.

7. He thinks the appeal will absolve him
just like he thinks he was fully entitled to all the tribute he could collect from his favored constituents and that it was an imposition to have to tell anybody how much he'd been raking in.
