Syria warns US of retaliation
The Syrian government has warned of retaliation if the US strikes again across the border from Iraq, demanding that its sovereignty be respected.

The warning came a day after Syria said eight people were killed in a US helicopter attack in the border village of Sukariya on Sunday.

On Monday Syria's foreign minister accused the US of conducting a planned act of "criminal and terrorist aggression" in broad daylight with "blunt determination".

Walid Muallem, speaking in London, said he did not believe the killing of civilians had been a mistake and warned that "we would defend our territories" if there is a repeat of the weekend raid.

2. I don't believe any "civilians" were killed at all,and I believe the object was to destroy
a terminal for sending more international thugs into Iraq.
I think we did it right this time, and I can't understand why Syria would have so much support at DU.

3. That's remarkably trusting of you
Given that the 'destruction' of anything physical was negligible, and that the anonymous US soldier said the purpose was to assassinate Abu Ghadiya (who al Qaeda says was killed 2 years ago), your idea of 'destroying a terminal' doesn't seem to have any evidence for it at all.

I think it's the civilians that have the support on DU. Especially the dead ones. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/7692411.stm

The Iraqi government doesn't like it either: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/7695169.stm
