I knew this distraction would be the undoing of this campaign, but it looks like there are several backstage players at work here. Rove's the big loser here as it was his boy, Schmidt, who had created most of the current problems. By buckling in to bringing on Sarah Barracuda (pushed by the fundies and neo-cons) he pissed off the fiscal conservatives (the Mittens wing) and the "elite" (the Peggy Nooners and David Frumps)...a rift that is starting to tear into the open and most definitely will after the election.

Then there's the discomfort the Beer Queen has had with this interloper into her fantasy. You could see a lot of tension between Palin and VicondinCindy from the outset...Cindy saw this hussy as crashing her party and as things have gotten worse, the venom is at toxic levels. I wouldn't be surprised if it was one of Cindy's people who tipped off on the clothing expenditure...and it's been hinted that it's the Mittens people who have been spreading it. Oh the fun...

Rove's games have backfired this year. Circumstances have changed and the years of lies and crimes by Rovian candidates have caught up with him and his corrupt party. Rove will be viewed as a reason for the loss...part of the final "boooosh legacy" of total failure.

Rove's gamble was to hope that Gramps could win and I'm sure part of the Faustian deal the two struck up was that if Rove helped Gramps "win", Gramps would continue to protect him.

I'm sure he was also hoping he would have been indicted or some action would have come down by now so his buddy georgie could pardon him...get his get out of jail card and ride off into the pundit sunset. That may not be the case now.

I've heard both Senators Biden and Leahey say they want to pursue the backlogs of obstructions...investigations into the Attorney Firings, Torture and a bunch of other long simmering scandals and Rove is in the crosshairs of those investigations. Also, there are now court decisions against him...his records will have to be turned over, he will have to testify. You'll notice how low profie he's been since that court ruling. He's watching this ship go down and sees a lot of rough days ahead. Here's hoping that's not a dream, but reality.
