Why wasn't Palin ready????
Edited on Tue Oct-28-08 06:00 AM by Stuart G
From an ABC article....

"But some McCain camp insiders tell ABC News they simply couldn't put Palin out in front of the media any more than they did because she wasn't ready."

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Vote2008/story?id=6124663&page=1

Simple...She would never be ready...She is too stupid to be VP..or even governor..

She couldn't learn her lessons, because she couldn't learn her lessons..Sorry, that is the truth..
They didn't even know she couldn't learn her lessons. They figured since she was governor, she was smart enough to learn her lessons....
Wrong........
..Some people get to be governor, and cannot learn their lessons. For what ever reason, when they vetted her, they didn't find out the most important information. That is how bad they were. They are getting what they deserved. Total Failure. And, the way they have treated the rest of the country, that is exactly what the Neo Cons deserve.

1. Its incredibly telling
that conservatives have to rely on limbaugh and hannity to get their candidates "word" out. Sarah in the bubble.

3. Correct...that bubble is so thick,,,,
Edited on Tue Oct-28-08 06:05 AM by Stuart G
that no one could get her out. Because she appeared like she was teachable, they thought she was teachable.

These terrible, awful people...the Neo Cons, were so arrogant, that they thought that they could sell us another complete fool.
Someone who was basically stupid. That is what wrong with them. I hate em.... and I will always hate em..
Cause if she would win, she would destroy us for good. And all they care about is winning, destroying all of us is not a concern of theirs..

6. A ltte in yesterday's paper summed up their position
The evil east coast liberal media should not get the opportunity to interview her because Palin does great when interviewed by somebody who does not have an agenda. I don't know whether to hate them or feel sorry for them.

8. I don't like to use the word hate ...but...
Edited on Tue Oct-28-08 06:18 AM by Stuart G
They would put her out, to be VP, knowing.. she is unteachable..
..That is what Brooks was saying in that article he wrote...basically. They would destroy all of us, to win..and control.....figuring she would be teachable later...

Those that vetted her, couldn't believe that she was unteachable, so they ignored the facts, and figured they could sell us this
person anyway...That is why I hate them.., and I had better stop..these facts are making me sick

10. I would want
any person selected to be VP to be up to the job of P on day one. And any such selection would be a reflection on the selector. Obama succeeds, mccain fails. palin would not be ready to be P on day 1,500.

2. Senators and congresscritters go up on corruption charges on
a regular basis... if they won't/don't/can't learn their lessons why should a governor be any less susceptible?

5. I want to add this..This is a word I rarely use..."stupid"
It is insulting, ugly and filthy. It means someone cannot or will not learn. Yet, Palin falls within that category. She couldn't even learn to sound intelligent..Thank God for small favors....

4. They thought she was George Bush in a skirt.
Someone that they could mold into an image that would win them the election. They did not realize that she was dumber than George.

9. VP Candidate = Vetted, Post-selection
There's a tendency for people like, well, the McCain Campaign, to look at Sarah Palin's selection as running-mate as a *campaign decision.* The problem is "process questions" aside, it's really a presidential decision. That she doesn't have a clear idea of what the job entails, or can't discuss policy coherently, is a drawback for her, but reflects foremost on McCain. The short-term needs of appeasing the base won out over the long-terms needs of his potential administration. It calls into question not just McCain's judgement in picking a running mate who would be "bad for his campaign"--but more outrageously, it calls into question his own appreciation of the seriousness of the job that he's running for. If she was found to be too uninformed to be put in front of the media to answer questions, how can she be seriously considered ready for the job?

11. The REAL Manchurian Candidate
I've thought about this quite a bit in recent days...the genus of the "hockey moms" and Michele Bachmanns and "new" generation of repugnican stars. Most of these people got their start with the fundies...getting onto school boards to ban books or demand the teaching of "creationism" or other crimps on the cirriculum (remember Palin was in the PTA???) and then onto city councils and county boards and up the party ladder...accumulating power and influence along the way.

I'm hoping we hear "Palin being Palin"...cause we'll hear the codewords and dog whistles of this movement that have been both her mission and her real power. There's a reason she is popular...she doesn't campaign, she evangelizes. Her personal ambition has allowed her to reach a national stage, but it's all flash and no substance...as is most of these candidates. They know the slogans and talking points to win elections and keep their true voice and agenda out of sight for those who can't understand the signals.

Palin comes out of this election as a martyr...and her support on the far right could even grow. Yes, she may not be "ready" this year...but she is a quick study and will be the darling of hate and religious radio and GOOP fundraisers for years to come.

13. "Quick study"? Surely, you jest. In order to learn...
one has to admit to inadequacies or making mistakes. She is constitutionally incapable of both. She appears just as evil and inept today as she did at the start of this campaign.

This woman may run for President in 2012, but not as a Republican. She would be just as stupid and unprepared as she is today, and she would be destroyed in the primaries by the likes of Romney and Huckabee. She will have to lead her own fundamentalist nut party to get the nomination she craves, and we all know how that works out.

14. A Quick Study In Playing The Game
That's far different that having any concept of policy or substance. We've seen in this campaign, there is no substance left in this corrupt party. All they have are talking points and scare tactics...these are things she has learned fast...at least to be the rising star on the right wing stage...and that's what she's playing, not ours.

We know she'll never have the "smarts" or depth of a Senator Obama or Biden...her education wasn't in law or poli-sci...it was in "communications"...and more specifically to be a teevee star. Her "substance" is being filled with that "holy spirit"...and when it comes to speaking the codeword and doing the dog whistles for the religious right, she's been preparing since she first walked into that Wassila church (if not before).

IMHO, she's been "Quayled" on a national level...turned into a cartoon character rather than a real person...the butt of jokes that isn't about to vanish anytime soon. And like you, I feel I as more contempt for her and what she stands for today than when she first burst on the scene...but again, we're spectators to this show.

Cheers...

15. I agree with you 100%
She is truly a master at what she does. My prediction is that she will end up on right-wing talk radio, and that she may eventually put an end to Rush Limbaugh's career. But I highly doubt that she will ever have a serious place in politics ever again.

But I've been wrong before.

16. The Intoxication Of The Limelight
Just imagine the ego trip Mooselini has gone through for the past two months. From barely getting a VFW hall filled in Fairbanks to thousands of cheering fans at all these rallies. After the election, I could see her as a big fundraiser...and buiding up a political base. I agree that she is a natural for hate radio and could use that as a platform to build her base as well.

Many counted out Richard Nixon after 1960...and especially after losing in California in 1962...but he maintained his political base and built up favors that made his '68 run possible. Raygun went to doing radio commentaries and fundraisers after his loss in the '76 primaries that kept him very visible for his '80 run. I'm sure Palin will be in the public eye for a while to come. Whether she'll ever be electable is highly doubtful, but as you say, both of us have been wrong before.

Cheers...

12. That's as ready as she gets. She WAS ready.
An article in the Anchorage papers announcing Trig's birth proves that she knew she was on the short list at least as of April. She could've crammed a lot better for this in those months until September. She flat didn't bother. And neither did her "handlers". Even as stupid as she is (and I agree that she is) she could've "performed" better than she did.

Her only expertise, the reason for her success thus far, is opportunism. She's good at that.

It offends me too, that the Repubs don't even respect the presidency of this country enough to nominate "the best" among them. Thank goodness, most of the country is disgusted by that as well. After two terms of Bush, I'm kind of surprised at that - it seemed like the voters were prepared to accept any atrocity in office.

It's late, but I'm glad Palin finally took incompetence far enough to be rejected.

17. She wasn't just picked out of nowhere
As Dan Quayle said in his book, he carefully positioned himself and let it be known he was interested in the VP position, as did Sarah Palin. That's how it works with these jobs. She put herself out there with her lack of experience and knowledge to be considered as presidential material.

19. I had read in a couple of places that
she has trouble answering "process questions"

I didn't know what that meant, so I looked it up.

And here's what scares me...

I think she's "not ready" because she can't give reasons for why she believes what she believes. You know? Give coherent, halfway sane reasons for coming to the conclusions she has about certain things.

Which, IMO anyway, pretty accurately describes a lot of people who use blind faith to guide their lives. No thought processing....just a belief that they carry around because "The Bible tells me so".

In essence, another George W Bush.

People who believe without knowing why just scare the shit out of me.

:scared:
