That disgusting vermon was trying to play his Factor bullshit on Dave, and asked him why he thought Biden had what it took to be veep...Bill was smug, condescending...himself. Dave just looked him in the eye and said "Because Senator Biden has endured more pain and hardship than most of us could imagine, and he listened to the advice of his father and he perservered..." I'm paraphrasing from late-night memory, of course, but that was pretty much the answer. And Bill O'Reilly was floored. You could so tell he planned to pounce on whatever Dave said, but he couldn't. His rug was pulled out from beneath him, and he was left telling Dave "That was a very good answer." Then Dave ridiculed him for some other bs on his show.

It was a thing of beauty.

Looks like BillO was on good behavior...trying to make nice to Dave. At one point Dave tried to shake things up...he asks Billo about the dime...saying how they should replace Roosevelt with Raygun...thinking O'Reilly would take that bait and rail on "socialism" and he didn't...he even said he prefered FDR. Then Dave went into the Obama interview and it seemed like Dave was hoping he'd come out and say what a "pinhead" Obama was...O'Reilly held his fire.

BillO's ego couldn't take another real humilitation with Letterman. He was only there to sell his goofy book and put up with Dave as best as possible.
