11. The Travelocity ad with the jackhammer
The guy is trying to ask his wife a question and every time he opens his mouth the jackhammer starts. I think for the rest of my life whenever some says "hey honey" i'll reach for the remote and try to mute them.

22. I never get to the remote fast enough
I alway hear some jackhammer. It's one of those commercials that has the opposite effect of what they want. I would never ever book a trip with Travelocity. Never ever!!!!!!!!!!

8. New York Times "the week, the weekend, and the weekender..."
I realize those commercials are designed to appeal to a certain demo, and that demo is full of it.

It's the "I need to get a New York Times to drag with me to brunch on Sunday to look cool" demo.

It's on the intertubes. FREE!!

17. YES! YES! YES! (remember that one?)
That NYT is really annoying. That woman has an annoying voice, the way she use a cadence to say Week, weekend, etc.

If I've ever wanted to subscribe to the NYT, this commercial would be a good reason not to.

Also, the Holiday Inn Express with the hottest bar in town, where one guy skips his breakfast since he is the "designated driver" and that woman with a horrible "cute" voice says how fun he is.. or something.

30. There's a car dealer here in Cleveland called Ganley who must pride himself on airing
the worst possible TV commercials. There's one where he's got a bunch of kids with him and they're singing a reworked version of "The Candy Man" to a horrible out-of-tune piano: "The Ganley Man can, 'cuz he'll do anything to make your car deal good!"

Listen to it once, and you will feel like sticking flaming ice picks into your ears and eyes.

Edited on Tue Oct-28-08 12:55 AM by Captiosus
Starz/Encore have completely ripped off the Cialis ads and damn is it ever annoying.

It looks like, sounds like, has the same imagery as (down to the stupid twin bathtubs) the Cialis commercials - even has a cheesy voice over - except the text is subtly changed to talk about having a premium movie package.

42. You Missed The Train In The Tunnel
Don't they always end up in the bedroom with the door closed? What's strange is why? One assumes if they had kids, they're grown or there's no one else in the house...why close the door?

My favorite is the disclaimer that if you're "erection lasts more than 4 hours see a physician"...hell, I'd look for another woman.

Maybe I'm strange...I'm of that target demo they're trying to reach and I figger if I need that stuff, it just ain't worth it.
