2. Actually, They Can Vote In Some States
I have no problem with them voting or being elected. Steven's crimes however, are ethical breaches of his current position and he should be tossed from Congress because of it.

4. States Rights. Since the Constitution is silent on the subject
each state makes its own rules.

5. Yeah, I know. But the wild inconsistency is totally lost on you?

You don't find it even slightly unsettling that over 100,000 voters without criminal records were purged from the voting lists in Florida in 2000 (and other states have followed suit subsequently) while Senator "Seven Time Felon" Stevens will roll unfettered toward re-election in Alaska?

7. All you have to do to correct the inconsistancy
is amend the Constitution of the United States. The Senate has authority to expel Senator Stevens if they believe it is appropriate.

9. what are the laws in Alaska regarding felons and voting?
 Stevens can't vote in election.

State of Alaska > Division of Election > Voting Information
http://www.elections.alaska.gov/voting.php

Q: I was convicted of a felony, but have served my time and am on probation. Can I register to vote?

A: No. A convicted felon may not register to vote unless unconditionally discharged from custody. When you are no longer on probation, a copy of your discharge papers will allow you to register.
