DCCC Pushing Anti-Choice Activists
From: Firedoglake

Have you ever thought about donating to the DCCC? Some of the tens of millions of dollars that comes in and goes out of there actually goes to help good candidates like Darcy Burner and Martin Heinrich get elected. But very little. It's got a bit better since 2006 when it was run by pro-war fanatic Rahm Emanuel and being against the war was almost the kiss of death. Now the D-Trip is run, at least ostensibly, by a progressive, Chris Van Hollen. Still, the bulk of the money they take in goes to help elect reactionary nominal Democrats from deep in the bowels of the Republican wing of the Democratic Party.

Sunday's NY Times celebrates how the "diversity" of having anti-choice activists running is putting more seats into play. Into play for what? Democrats, Inc? Who gives a damn about that except Insiders? Most people who vote for Democrats are doing so because they believe in what the party is supposed to stand for. But the Rahm Emanuel Democratic Party is standing on its head and has more in common-- much more-- with the Republican Party insiders than with its own grassroots.

Did you give a donation to the DCCC this year? If you did you contributed towards the ending of a woman's right to choice. No hyperbole; that's a fact. The DCCC has spent around $1.5 million on electing Bobby Bright an anti-choice fanatic and Alabama reactionary.

In fact, Mr. Bright is one of a dozen anti-abortion Democratic challengers the party has recruited to run for the House this year and has aggressively supported with millions of dollars and other resources in culturally conservative districts long unfriendly to the party.

...running Republicans to run as Dems.

We already have enough corporate reactionaries in our party after the 2006 election -- a small price to pay for a majority....why add more?

The DCCC is responsible for Tim Mahoney.

BETTER DEMS not MORE DEMS.

The Senate has one too, the DSCC: Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee

Don't donate to them.

Donate to the DNC, Progressive Majority, Democracy for America, MoveOn.org, or directly to the Congressional, Senatorial or Presidential campaign.

5. That's right - never donate to these fuckers, or the DSCC.
They have too much in common with the fucking DLC.
MUCH, much better to be selective and donate to individual candidates.

Rahm Emanuel sucks ass.

6. Disagree
But I'm biased...I've done a lot of their mailers. Dtrip is responsible for the campaign against Tom Feeney in Florida, for one. I did those, as well as campaigns for OH 15 and 01, PA 12, NC 08 ( getting rid of Robin Hayes), MS 01, LA 06, VA 02, CA 04, AL 02, FL 16 and 24, TX 22, among others. Face it, not every race has a "perfect democratic candidate."

8. Nobody says they don't do SOME good.
But between some of the reactionary right-wingers they recruit to run, and their involvement in primaries on behalf of anti-progressive Dems, it makes sense for progressives to withhold support until they change their ways. As another poster noted, there are many alternative methods of funding candidates we like.

You can't deny that the DCCC has a DLC agenda and our Party is split between progressives and corporatists. Sometimes ya gotta take sides.

7. Nov. 5 is not the end of the campaign, but the beginning

of a lot of work we will need to do to get BETTER democrats and get these Emanuel D's out and put progressives in.
