Smith can’t undo past six years

According to his nonstop advertisements, Sen. Gordon Smith occasionally does the right (decent) thing. However, according to his record, Smith almost always does the right (neo-con) thing.

After faithfully following the marching orders issued by Karl Rove for years, you can imagine Smith’s panic in November 2006 when he held his finger up and discovered that a strong wind was blowing against him. So Smith ran to his handlers and begged for some political cover, hence his tepid statements opposing President per curiam Bush. But the damage done by six years of unbridled Republican corruption cannot be undone that easily.

I was always told that if you worked hard, lived frugally and saved as much as you could that you would come out fine, maybe even prosper. I just received my quarterly retirement account statements and my daughter’s college fund in the mail. I am holding George Bush, John McCain, Gordon Smith and the rest of the neo-cons personally responsible for destroying our American dreams.
