I took the family to the state fair last night. The little kids LOVE the animals and my wife had an entry in the photo contest, plus we love bad for you fair food. I was absolutely amazaed at the crowd around NC Republican Party table, and then the crowd breaks and Elizabeth Dole makes a B-Line for us. She shook our hand and spoke with us for several minutes.

Needless to say, we don't see eye to eye on a lot of things, but she stood there and listened intently, and then spoke with the kids, shook our hands and walked away.

I could not believe out of the thousands of folks there EVERYONE seemed to be wearing McCain/Palin and Dole stickers. Even several of the African American folks I passed by were sporting them. Talk about walking into the Twilight Zone.

1. Thanks for confirming why I never go to the fair...lol.
Seriously, I don't have little kids (thank goodness!), and I find absolutely nothing of interest at that fair. I have to go over that way every day, and I really hate this time of year.

I'm a big party-pooper when it comes to the fair.

:(

2. I hope that is an anomaly. The RW are extremely exuberant.
Bless their hearts. Maybe they will support our party that way when they see how we will improve this country?

3. There's a large percentage of yay-hoos at the Fair trying to play the rigged games
and looking at the World's Biggest Horse and attending the Tractor Pull.

Usually the musical guests are 90% washed up country singers. It's so sad.

Can't say I'm too surprised about the McCain/Palin stickers.
