Why am I a heterosexual?
Edited on Thu Oct-23-08 12:20 PM by RainDog
I live in a city that is considered gay-friendly and have neighbors who are homosexual couples. I and my kids have friends who are homosexuals -- and yet, we have remained stubbornly heterosexual. I have worked with homosexuals all my life, and have even gone to bars that cater to them -- and yet -- I'm still heterosexual.

Maybe it's because I don't live in a "homosexual state?" -- only a "homosexual city?"

I wonder if something is wrong with me since freepers have declared that the "homosexual agenda" will make sure the entire nation becomes a never-ending replay of Angels in America and Will and Grace (actually, I've never seen Will and Grace, but Angels in America is, imo, a GREAT piece of theater that will stand the test of time.

What is my problem?!?!?!

Why am I so "homo-resistant," even tho I've done everything the freepers say will be sure to at least give me gender i.d. issues. Have I failed in some way?

1. You need to edit that...it's a little confusing.
I get what you are saying but you lost me for a second in the first paragraph.

7. funny that
most gays were raised in staunchly heterosexual households, surrounded by very straight people who viewed anything not in the missionary position, with the dude on top, as deviant sex.

We were ingrained with doctrine, social expectation, rarely even knew any other gay existed, had Liberace to look forward to as a role model and personal future, and generally invited scorn, violence or just social banishment for even thinking about being who we were.

and yet, somehow, it's harder to deny who you are than to change to what someone else thinks you should be, no matter who raises you.

Clearly if proximity to concentrated sexual orientation could change anyone from one to the other, there would be no gays.

17. true dat
I was raised in the south and knew a guy whose parents literally MOVED from one state to another to try to de-gay their son. It was so sad. Oh, this was also in fundie church-ville, too (aka Nashville.)

Answer: Because you are sexually attracted to women.

19. Therein, might be your problem. You see...that poster was obviously trying to homosexualize you
with the power of suggestion and you completely missed the subtle cue. Those of us pushing the "homosexual agenda" are deviant that way, you know. :P

11. Compare the naked bodies of men and women.
Tell me if we actually had a choice that anyone would CHOOSE to sleep with a man. We are some pretty disgusting & hairy creatures compared to our female counterparts.

Thankfully, most women don't have the choice to be heterosexual or we men would be out of luck.

23. As a guy, I'm glad.
Hopefully, you women will never get objective enough to stop liking us guys either.

I usually ask guys who believe it's a choice "Are you saying you could CHOOSE a man when such a better option is available!?!"

But then I'm a lesbian. Interestingly enough, when I was younger and hadn't realized my sexuality, men with smooth bodies were much more attractive to me.

28. When you think about it
Edited on Thu Oct-23-08 06:49 PM by ismnotwasm
It's actually a heterosexual agenda, or a freep heterosexual agenda, since those types think they can dictate sexuality to people. I haven't had any gay people telling me I'm not fully human, that I should be denied my choice in partners, and actually promoting vicious legislation to make sure I choose the "right" gender.

My husband is "gay friendly" It doesn't occur to him to be threatened by a gay man(or woman) because it's all about the human being part.

31. You are definitely on to something.
It's the FReep heterosexual agenda, for sure. Non FReep heterosexual people don't seem to have that obsession and that need to control people like the FReeps do.

He nearly had a heart attack during the 5 seconds or so it took for him to figure it out.
