I just received a second absentee ballot for the general election. I thought I had already voted!

I'll be calling the Louisiana SOS office as soon as they open, but I'm just curious as to whether this has happened to others. My first thought, of course, is wondering if my first ballot will be counted. Then I wondered if I was supposed to just ignore the second ballot, or what. If I send it in, will neither of my votes count or will I be accused of trying to vote twice? I'm totally confused and more than a little bit pissed off.

Anyone else been sent a duplicate absentee ballot?

4. I don't live there. I live in Scotland. I have to vote there because it was the last place I lived

in the US before moving overseas.

2. DO NOT VOTE TWICE
Obviously, you know that, but voting twice is a felony. You're right to call the SOS office, to find out if your first one has been received or not.

Alternate, according to my partner here, would be to vote the ballot, and write boldly on the outside of the envelope that they should not process the ballot if they have already received one from you.

...interesting...

5. What's interesting is that the envelope also included a ballot for the 2nd Democratic Congressional

primary for my district.

Wonder if there's a Republican primary election also taking place, or if these packets were only sent to Democrats.

My tinfoil hat is firmly in place now. I've sent a couple of emails to folks while I wait for the SOS office to open.

8. Perhaps a race was left off the original ballot.
something similar happened in Sarasota, Florida. Original absentees were missing a state senate race so now they have to send out a second ballot.

I smell clusterf**k.

6. Must had been how Louisiana's Governor was elected.
Hopefully, my dream was correct in showing that Jindahl lost re-election.
