Sarah Palin asks James Dobson to pray for GOP victory
via AlterNet's PEEK:

Palin Tells Dobson That 'Prayer Warriors' Should Ask God to Intervene in U.S. Election for GOP

Posted by Blue Texan, Firedoglake at 12:41 PM on October 22, 2008.

Does this mean that Sarah Palin believes that without God's intervention the McCain-Palin ticket will lose?

Awesome!

In an interview posted online Wednesday, Sarah Palin told Dr. James Dobson of "Focus on the Family" that she is confident God will do "the right thing for America" on Nov. 4.

...

She also thanked her supporters -- including Dobson, who said he and his wife were asking "for God’s intervention" on election day -- for their prayers of support.

"It is that intercession that is so needed," she said. "And so greatly appreciated. And I can feel it too, Dr. Dobson. I can feel the power of prayer, and that strength that is provided through our prayer warriors across this nation. And I so appreciate it."

From this we can deduce that:

1. Sarah Palin believes God personally chooses our Presidents and Vice Presidents.

2. Sarah Palin believes that God should choose her as Vice President.

3. Sarah Palin believes that without God's intervention she will lose.

4. We all saw the efficacy of all that praying to Gawd to make it rain on the DLC.
Gawd does not intervene in earthly politics, but these demented Bible-thumpers haven't figured that out yet, and probably never will.

7. God as celestial vending machine
I suppose it's not a crime to have a fifth grade understanding of God . . . that is, if you're in the fifth grade. But when you're old enough to remember a half dozen or so presidential elections, it's just kind of pathetic.

8. They prayed for rain to ruin Barack's big moment, and a hurricane ended up wiping out theirs!
Edited on Wed Oct-22-08 09:57 PM by quiet.american
So, pray, baby, pray!

Remember how Dobson (or some big mega-church poohbah) asked his members to pray that rain would ruin the night of Obama's acceptance speech?

And it turned out that a hurricane ended up being the excuse that the GOP used to explain why their pathetic convention was in utter disarray?

Bring it, Dobson, bring it!

(Actually, that hurricane was tragic for others, so, let's just hope that the boomerang from their ill intentions remain confined to themselves this time.)

...and there is nothing holy about it.

14. In that one gesture

Palin proves that she believes in neither God's omniscience nor democracy.

If the election needs His intervention, how is it that an all-knowing God needs to be told so by a human?

If she really thinks that God ought to change the election, then she doesn't believe in democracy (rule by the people). Unless she thinks God should change the people's choices, in which case she doesn't believe people control their own actions, so sin doesn't really exist.

I swear, this woman doesn't think three feet out in front of her nose as she walks through life.
