Poll question: Better worded poll: What I spent on clothes in 7 weeks!
What is the most that you have ever spent (or had spent on you) on clothes in a 7 week period. Don't include socks, underwear or jewelery...but include shoes, purse etc.

9. to be honest I didn't even want to do that
I hate clothes. I guess some of it stems from the fact that I went to a Catholic School for 12 years and each day we wore the same fucking thing. While I didn't like it then, it certainly made me immune to any fashion desire or lusting after threads the way some do.

I rang from the left of the US Congressman in my district. I had just run a successful 1989 city of Tacoma initiative, called the 10% solution..an advisory asking for a reduction of military spending by 10% and applying that to deficit reduction and social services. We were advised that we wouldn't get on the ballot because this is such a huge military area. We not only got on, but won with 64% of the vote. Right after that vote came the assassination of the 6 Jesuit priests in El Salvador by soldiers trained at the School of the America's in Ft. Benning, Georgia. At the world wide day of mourning held at the Jesuit center in Tacoma, during the funeral Mass our congressman got up and said that the priests shouldn't have been there in the first place and restated his willingness to continue to fund the SOA. It was then that a committee decided to run some one against him, and they chose me. Until that time, I was a social worker and my wife taught at a Catholic school...our combined income 1989 dollars was about $22,000.00 we certainly didn't spend much on clothes and it showed. When it came time to go public with my announcement I had one ok suit and a couple of really nice clothes but that was it. My campaign manager, was quite liberal himself and very rich (highly placed stockbroker) ...he was the one who decided I needed a new wardrobe and sprung for it. I wound up with 42% of the primary vote, the most of any body since 1976. My opponent spent $457,000.00 when he should have had to spend only $100,000.00 more importantly, six weeks after the election he changed his vote on funding the School of America's and has kept it there ever since. My campaign spent %58,000.00 and in the midst of it we took a yard sign case to the US Supreme Court and won it 9-0. It was quite an incredible experience for me, being a German immigrant, I never thought I would ever be in that position. It taught me a lot.-Peace Mike C

4. I'm a Goodwill shopper.
And I am not just cheap about what I spend on clothes, I've gotten my hair trimmed twice in the past five years, and never paid my girlfriend when she did it.
