Anyone notice Palin calls Obama, "Barack".....
as opposed to the more respectful and accepted, "Senator Obama"? I noticed this during the Brian Williams interview of the Denial Duo.

This may be a non-issue, but I feel it not only shows a real lack of professionalism one would expect of an prospective national leader, but also the respect owed an elected senator.

3. Obama and Biden sometimes call John McCain "John."
I'd say they're wrong, too.

7. They've also worked with him for years
"Senator" is clearly the proper form of address, but there's an implication of familiarity after, in Biden's case, having been a colleague for decades.

However, I haven't heard Obama or Biden refer to her as "Sarah."

5. "Can I call you 'Barack'? Can I call you 'Joe'?"
It's fucking "MAY" I call you by your first name, and if anyone asked me, the answer would be NO WAY, these are Senators, and you address them as such, Govvvvvvvvvvvv Palin.

blecchhh!

9. I don't think that hurts him. Many people calls him Barack.
But Obama never calls him Sarah.

17. Now now, some of us have to make do with boxwine.
I haven't had much to drink laely because I've had a cold, but the last wine I had came from a little bitty box from CA, and it was pretty good. It was even better than a bottle of some stuff given to me that was from someone's family estate.

But I like the name "Sarah Boxwine".

11. In two weeks I hope she has to call him "President Elect".
It's just a shame that we can't just send Bush home a couple of weeks after the election.

12. You will NEVER hear her refer to him as Senator Obama.
IMHO it's evidence of her racism. They can only do so much to keep it secret.

14. Normally I wouldn't have noticed
but I do now and it annoys me. Some on Capitol Hill may do it occasionally because they've worked with each other for years, but why her?

It's as annoying to me as the way the RW uniformly refers to the DemocratIC Party as the Democrat Party now.

22. It's a sign of disrespect and it is heavily laden with racism.
Edited on Wed Oct-22-08 10:13 PM by Cerridwen
It's the "dog whistle" to her base that though he is a man he is deserving of no respect because he is a *black* man, he is "lesser."

She's not "lacking in professionalism" when she does this, she is playing to her audience. Her audience is plain and simple (emphasis on the simple) racist.

I'd bet it was scripted and pounded into her head to do this.

It has the added "benefit" of making it look like she's part of the in-group and on a first name basis though she's a novice.

edit: spelling
