http://www.usnews.com/blogs/washington-whispers/2008/10/22/gop-death-list-predicts-democratic-blowout-in-the-house.html

Voter displeasure with the war and economy, coupled with Sen. Barack Obama's popularity, has the House GOP running for cover. Even though polls have shown that Americans don't like congressional Democrats any more, a new internal GOP tally of House races suggests a Democratic route that could keep the Republicans in the minority for decades. A document provided to Washington Whispers from a House GOP official shows that they could lose a net 34 seats. That means the Democrats would have a 270-165 advantage in the 111th Congress. In the Senate, Republicans expect to lose also but to keep up to 44 seats, ensuring their ability to stage a filibuster.

14. A Democratic "route"?

U.S. 9 runs through NY and NJ before continuing on to DE via ferry. Doesn't get much more Democratic than that!

P.S. They meant a Democratic rout! :dunce:

15. Look Out
I love the news as much as anybody, and I would be the first to agree that the GOP deserves it. Frankly, I would love to see this country get to where the Current democratic party IS the right wing, The Greens are the far left, and we say firmly Center-left. However, keep in mind, the GOP is the master of our country's inner demons, the greed and fear that have been used to make us tolerate crap that other nations would not. We need to be prepared to fight, even if the mandate we get is so clear that it might as well have been delivered by the Archangel Gabriel! Do not forget, after FDR, Democratic dominion should have been a shoo in, but along came McCarthy, who targeted many people in the New deal as communists, getting revenge for the GOP. They also trotted out the kind, innocent types like Ike, who never really understood how evil the GOP was until it was too late. Then, along came the 60's, where for all the glory, the decade was noted for the ways leaders were gunned down like dogs. All this happened during the 50's, 60's and early 70's, when the people who benefited the most from the New Deal were the first to turn Archie Bunker when they finally got some money in their hands. And who honestly would have thought, after Nixon, after Ford, that this nation would ever elect such clods as Ronnie Ray Gun and the Two Bushes?

Does this mean we despair, NO, because thanks to the internet, we have much better means of combating BS then FDR ever did. Even people whose heads are sealed tight will have to admit that they ignored your information. The GOP will try to get back up, but if we do pour jobs right, we can make sure they have to climb up a greased pole, so that eventually, they will sink down into the what W. called "the graveyard of discarded ideas and lies."
