I doubt many people picked up on this the other day on Matthews' show.

He said he voted for Mike Steele in the last Maryland Senate race because he felt is was time for another serious black man to be in the Senate.

Oddly, Matthews had Kweisi Mfume on his show the day after Kweisi lost to Ben Cardin in the Maryland democratic Senate primary. In that conversation, Matthews said he's vote for Kweisi.

Say what you will about Matthews, he's no racist. I also voted for Mfume, but there's no chance in hell I would veer vote for Steele, however.

Is this white guilt? I can't explain this. Is it actually a form or racism?

1. One redeeming thing about Tweety is his experience in the Peace Corps
Maybe not quite white guilt but something else about
wanting equality ... ?

2. No, Steele is a putz.
He's the guy who refused to identify himself as a R. He's the guy who bussed in homeless people from Philly to hand out propaganda.

3. And those were his better tactics. He was joined at the hip to Rove.
Steele is dangerous.

He looks and sounds reasonable. He is a NAZI.

4. Yeah Steele... the guy they said would mop the floor with Obama
after Obama's 2004 convention speech. They touted this guy would make mince meat of Obama but at the Repub convention he was a flop and then went on to lose his race.

But, to his credit his head kept that nice shine.

5. Can't stand Steele. Mr. Concerned there weren't a lot of black
faces at the Republican National Convention. He actually couldn't figure it out. I have no respect for Matthews voting for Steele just because he's black. I'm black and do not see the point in voting for a Faux News propagandist, lover of Sean Hannity, lover of the iraq war, lover of bush, and let's not forget Mr. Drill Baby Drill. I just can't stand him. I moved from Maryland 11years ago and proud the state did not let me down and saw right through Steele.
