1. The are nonpartisan, but most of their work is in inner cities, poor neighborhoods, etc.
which tend to lean Democratic.

19. They are for poor people and the poor are usually left leaning
If the poor were right leaning, they would still be for poor people. If the poor were independents, they would still be for poor people.

5. Not technically partisan
Their targets happen to be low income people who vote Democrat. But then, rich people don't need help registering. They have the resources.

9. If registering unregistered voters is partisan, 'yes'.
It turns out that one party is against increasing voter participation and one is for increased voter participation. One party is basically opposed to representative democracy and the other is for it. So yes, organizations such as ACORN, which attempt to increase voter participation as a foundation of representative democracy are highly partisan.

14. About ACORN
Read it for yourself:

http://www.acorn.org/index.php?id=12342

"ACORN is a non-profit, non-partisan social justice organization with national headquarters in New York, New Orleans and Washington, D.C."

If siding with the poor and middle class makes one a "lefty", then all of us should be proud to be called "lefties". The true reason they are referred to as "lefties" is the rabid right, which has set this nation back eighty years during the past eight years, is known for labeling anyone and anything that works toward the common good rather than the good of the very, very few as "lefty".

22. YES!. they advocate for the poor..
If there are poor republican who need their help, I'm sure they render help, but sadly, most inner city poor (where ACORN is mostly) are democratic voters..

If republicans fear ACORN, and want to "eliminate" groups like them, they should be more rready to provide the help necessary to lift people out of poverty.. End the need, and these groups go away..
