A friend of mine told me today that she has decided to actually go vote this year!
What's surprising about this is that, now I have known her for several years, since before 1999 (we used to work together), and we have always talked lightly about politics (I try to avoid it with friends and colleagues, but you know how it goes when you work with someone day after day, year after year), and as far as I can TELL, she is as liberal as I am, and I recall she sat out the elections in 2004, because she was just disgusted with politics and politicians, they are all liars, yadda yadda. I always tried to reason with her, but hey, there's only so much you can do.

So then this past year, she was supporting Hillary, and when Hillary lost the primary, I thought, oh, no, she's going to sit out again this year. So I never raised the issue, until today, she and I were talking and she said, "I've decided to vote this year, because I'm feeling like I want to." ! I was pleasantly shocked. I'm 100% sure she's voting for Obama.

And I think that's what's going to happen with a lot of voters this year, that Obama is going to inspire many people who normally just think, there's no point, there's no difference between them, I'm not going to waste my time on this charade, that he's going to inspire many such voters to actually come out to vote!

Just wanted to share that story. :)
