It sure gets lonely being blue in a red state. Check out these LTTE in our
local paper today.

http://www.swtimes.com/letters_to_the_editor/10-22-08/letters01.txt

They run 2-1 anti-Obama (which is not to say that they are necessarily pro-McCain) and reek of racism and distrust. They sound like they've been written by freepers who have bought into the hype that Obama is anti-American, anti-Christian and has no experience.

Things are much better up here in New England.

2. Sounds just like the crap in the Democrat-Gazette every day
Their editorial section should be renamed "Wannabe Preachers' Amateur Hour." Every other letter has something to do with how God hates us for killing babies and not falling to our knees in prayer between every class in school. That or complaints about spinning wing decoys. Priorities, people!

I want to write an LTTE in support of a statewide lottery whose proceeds will benefit unmarried foster parents. All lottery tickets will have pictures of Obama on them. That should send 'em over the edge.

4. I hear the same thing from my Dad. From talking with people around him, he's pretty sure his county

will go McCain, mainly because of race. He's in southwestern Arkansas.

12. I'm sure the whole state will go for McCain. He currently holds a 15 point lead.

5. There are so many hateful LTTEs in Arkansas papers that I stopped taking any of them about 6 years
ago. I never read the LTTEs in the Arkansas Hate Gazette nor The Morning News. Every now and again I just have to explode and ask myself why the hell I don't live in Vermont or NY or some other 'elitist' stronghold.

6. Same stupid, different brand
I've lived all over this country, and abroad. There's plenty of stupid to go around. Different regions are just stupid about different things. I think so far Florida was definitely the worse.

I'm actually glad to be in Arkansas after too long away from the south. If i've got to deal with stupid, I'd much rather it be friendly stupid with good food and a lower cost of living.

I read the DG so I can know what the morans are up to. I read the Arkansas Times for my sanity.

7. I've lived in Ohio, FL, NC, AZ, Minnesota, Texas, and Arkansas. I came here because of its natural
beauty, but there's alot I miss.

9. It is depressing, isn't it? Even in a blue county the nasty letter writers hold sway.

11. A top story last month was an unexpected layoff of 700 people at Whirlpool that
will take place in November. A lot of folks around here won't be having happy holidays.
