McCain's push may not budge Pennsylvania

<snip>He said the campaign was operating three dozen offices in the state and was making hundreds of thousands of phone calls a week to identify and persuade potential GOP voters.

But if they are generating excitement for their candidate, it is hard to see it at McCain's events.

At a rally in the blue-collar Philadelphia suburb of Bensalem on Tuesday morning, fewer than 500 people showed up. The tiny turnout inside the hangar-sized Technology Creativity Manufacturing center underscored the apparent lack of enthusiasm that dogs McCain. Local GOP offices had promoted the rally, and some in the crowd said they had heard about it on TV news.

The event provided a sharp contrast to a pair of Obama's weekend rallies in Missouri, attended by 75,000 and 100,000 people.

1. He's coming to my town on Friday (small Colorado town) and the new paper just had breaking news..
now it's open to everyone, first come-first served..This morning it was reported that you had to have a reserve a ticket to get in..I guess they weren't getting too much interest.

2. This is an opportunity for local Ds to organize and attend Mc's rallies.
Imagine Ds outnumbering Rs and shouting down McPalin when they spout their lies about Obama!

This is a pretty solidly Democratic part of the state.

5. I think it would be a lot funnier
to have a bunch of Democrats show up and just stand there looking puzzled as McCain speaks. Not applauding, not booing, not saying anything. Just standing there frowning a little. Imagine a huge crowd where only half of the people are applauding. It would be a lot more devastating than booing or shouting.

13. it would be AWESOME
That's a great idea! It's kind of mean... but we can put the velvet gloves back on sometime later when the future of the country isn't at stake.

And with reference to the OP, I would say there's a sharp contrast indeed between 500 attendees and 100,000.

16. Exactly. You could just pretend to be an undecided voter who doesn't quite get what McCain is sayin
You wouldn't want to talk to the press or anything, but there would be a lot of reports about "lukewarm crowds" and so on.

(And that's looser for you freeps out there)

I'm going to enjoy the hell out of watching the election returns a few nights from now.

These rethuglicans are going to have their asses handed to them big time.

It's even fun lately tuning in to the RW Radio hatemongers just to listen

to how desperate they are with all their absurd lies and venom.
