2. I'd skip the flu shot, but that's just me.
Young men and women aren't likely to need a flu shot.

Better to concentrate 100% of the nagging on mailing in the absentee ballots.

3. College students should get the flu shot, especailly if they live in the dorms.
Trust me, I learned that lesson the hard way. I was out of action for a week and a half. I was fortunate because that semester I only had classes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

4. On the contrary - close quarters, lousy sleeping habits, poor food and
if they miss a week they might as well miss the entire semester!

Plus - if they all get the shots, they're protecting their elderly relatives who have poor immune systems!

5. I called my younger son yesterday, and he sent in his application for the ballot and now waiting.
My older son refuses to vote. At 21 he is totally disillusioned/cynical with the political system in our country.

6. Tell him if you don't vote, you can't round up your friends, hire a bus
and descend on Washington with pitchforks!

First of all he's quite brilliant and was in HS, the statewide debate champ. He has versed himself in politics. From what he has learned, he's cynical. He refuses to discuss the election now. He is Not unlike me on some level. I am not embarrassed to call myself a tinfoil hatter.

I'm one of those people who intellectually believes through what I've learned over the years that the government is not really controlled by our elected politicians. That there is a shadow government who calls the shots. That our Congress is filled to the brim with opposames. Repukes and Dems that might differ on things, but in the end, become complicit in destroying our Constitution and yes, our country. Look how at how the FISA Amendment was passed as an example.

On the other hand, emotionally I am an optimist, with a glimmer of hope that an Obama Presidency is the last chance to prove that I'm wrong. I Long To Be Wrong.
