What a glorious day

(Warning: feel-good rambling to follow - nothing more, nothing less)

This must be how it feels when someone is about to be released from prison. I'm looking at all the indicators and barometers and they all seem to be pointing to an Obama victory. Every new day seems like another day closer to a long-sought victory. A day with sunshine.
Assuming this election plays out as such, I am so thrilled to have experienced this watershed election with my newly-politically-aware 8 year old daughter. She will soon grow up in a world where ignorant racists, while not eradicated, will be marginalized and mocked as relics of a dark past.

I also can't stop smiling because even though I know it will be a tough 4-8 years for Obama, I really feel America is getting the best person possible, a thinker, an idealist, a REAL uniter. This will be the beginning of a renaissance period where intelligence is prized while fear and religious demagoguery are roundly rejected once and for all.

God I feel good today. The optimism is almost palpable. YES WE CAN!!!!!
