Woman charged with evading after vehicle chase (with 3 kids in the vehicle)
Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department deputies were involved in a vehicle chase this afternoon with a truck containing a female driver and three children.

Speed spikes were used, causing damage to the front tires of the truck, Ms. Atkinson said.

The driver continued to drive until her truck struck the concrete siding of the highway between Harrison Lane exit and the Thrasher Pike exit. The driver, identified as Stacey Campbell, 28, left the truck and ran, leaving three children seated inside.

Ms. Campbell was taken to the Hamilton County Jail, where she was booked on charges of felony evading, three counts of reckless endangerment, possession of marijuana and two counts of aggravated assault.

I hope these children were turned over to a family member and that she *never* gets to see them again without close supervision...

1. I will never understand why people run from the police like this.
I'm no fan of the cops, but it just seems stupid. A traffic stop, for whatever reason, escalates into this.

Brilliant move, driver.

2. I don't understand it either.. hell, I hit a road block one day with 25 kilos in my trunk
I pulled up with my license, registration & insurance card out and ready... and got waved through...

I never understood the people hauling that drive 90mph, either... just dunbasses, I guess.

However, this woman was a complete moran who endangered her 3 children and should pay very heavily for that...

5. Pure Colombian Cocaine... This was Miami in the early 80's....
Miami in the 80's was the cocaine cowboy days. Fortunes were made... and lost. Men were made.... and broken. Most of the people I knew then are either dead or in prison. Mostly dead, though. There's a few of us who survived it by knowing when to get out.... or just by pure luck, but we still carry the battle scars both physically & mentally...

Peace,

Ghost

4. What a fool. I wonder why they tried to stop her in the first place, and why
she thought she could outdrive the cops. Why does anyone think they can speed away from the police? Sounds like she needs some serious intervention and supervision when it comes to parenting (and just day-to-day decision making).

That said, "Thrasher Pike" is a great name for a street, a band, or my first child...

6. With 3 kids in a truck, they probably weren't all in seat belts... (i'm just guessing)
I don't know why anyone would try to outrun the cops these days, though some do it successfully every day... just not in the city. With the use of helicopters, no one is getting away anyways....

:hi:

I think that The Psychedelic Pterodactlys would be a good name for a band... I guess you could name your kid that... and call him/her 'Pterry or Pterri' for short?

7. Pterry/Pterri with a silent 'P' - that is a brilliant name!
Like Wodehouse's character Psmith...
