But Wait Until You See the Solid Gold Parka- $150,000 to clothe and accessorize Sarah Palin

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2008/10/but-wait-until.html

Politico's Jeanne Cummings is reporting that the Republican National Committee "appears to have spent more than $150,000 to clothe and accessorize vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and her family since her surprise pick by John McCain in late August. According to financial disclosure records, the accessorizing began in early September and included bills from Saks Fifth Avenue in St. Louis and New York for a combined $49,425.74. The records also document a couple of big-time shopping trips to Neiman Marcus in Minneapolis, including one $75,062.63 spree in early September."

The McCain-Palin campaign didn't comment, but if campaign officials change their minds we shall be happy to update.

1. At least she won't go back to Juneau empty handed.
Think of it as a parting gift.

"Thanks for playing, Gov. Palin."

It's "The San Francisco Treat", so it's not from a pro-America part of the country.

23. She is rarely seen in Juneau (the state capitol); legislators wear "Where's Sarah?" buttons
She's doing her damndest to move the state capitol from Juneau (which has the most moderate climate in the state) to Anchorage (where you have to plug your car in to a curbside electrical outlet to keep the motor block from freezing). Whenever a job at a state agency office in Juneau opens up, Palin advertises it for all of two weeks and then if a (subjectively) "suitable" person doesn't apply for it, the job is transferred to Anchorage and filled there.

Analogize it to moving the state capitol from Albany to NYC, or from Springfield to Chicago, IL, or from Harrisburg to Phillie or from Sacramento to LA. When a state has one city far larger than the next largest city, it is usually a good idea to keep the capitol in the smaller city, so that the state residents don't feel totally overwhelmed by the largest city.

As a journalist I know in Juneau said to explain how Palin got elected governor, the "oil field roughnecks" (Alaska's version of rednecks) - crudely said of Palin: "I'd do her; I'll vote for her."

9. Saks? Neiman Marcus?
Certainly where Mr. & Mrs. Joe the Plumber and Mr. & Mrs. Joe Sixpack shop for themselves and their families.

The Minneapolis Neiman Marcus must be a big draw for Republicans. I believe that's where Norm Coleman's friend bought Normie a suit or two.

27. I know. with that kind of dough, why is she dressing like that?
And again, with that kind of money, can't they get her a tailor?

Her hair does look nice down, though, or half pulled back--I'll give her that. (Thumbs down on the hawt librarian updo, though.) And she was wearing some totally amazing shoes a few times--those black patent peep-toes.

22. The funniest part is the $4763 for makeup consultation and services
You read right: nearly five bills to make over Miss Mooseburger. You'd think former beauty queens would know how to select and apply cosmetics.

As for the clothes...come on, guys, she buys her suits at the Wasilla Wal-Mart. You can't sell a vice-presidential candidate who dresses like that.

33. Quit denigrating either pigs or pitbulls that way
You can do many things with a pig besides eating it. You can find truffles with one. It can be a children's pet. Its skin, run through a special slitting machine, can be used as a basis for skin regeneration in burned humans. Also, insulin has been harvested from pigs for decades.

Pitbulls? Excellent junkyard dogs. Can be raised to be good with children. One of the stars of the most famous series of propaganda films of all time.

Sarah Palin's a different story. You can't guard anything with her. Can't use her to find truffles. You can put her in a propaganda film...as an example of bad behavior...but other than that, I can't think of a damn thing she's good for.

And anybody can look great on a LOT less than that.

On the other hand, she is ill-informed, being manipulated and is manipulative, and mean-spirited.

So, she IS like many in "real" America. EXACTLY why we don't want another regular Jane/Joe in The White House. Enough with wanting a dumbass people want to have a beer with.

Puleeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzz.
