Looks like Bush and the Republicans hit their trifecta

Throughout history, dysfunctional regimes and ideologies rarely ever let go of power, absent one or more of the following factors:

Disastrous war. Check.

Economic collapse. Check.

Environmental catastrophes. Katrina. Check.

The only one we haven't yet seen is a virulent pandemic. Though wer certainly have seen an unprecidented amount of tainted food.

I really think there will be one in the next few years but with the way things are going it would not surprise me if it happened before Bush leaves office.
