Here is the problem for Republicans with Biden's comments
Edited on Tue Oct-21-08 08:19 AM by gopbuster
I believe he could have worded it differently and directed his comment in that the Presidential "team" would be tested rather than the comment being directed at Obama himself. Although he did say he (Obama) would need "help" which directs it to the Vice Presidential side of the equation (think Sarah Palin vs. Joe Biden)

When the dust settles on this I don't think Republican's will have been able to spin Palin's foreign policy experience AND her dangerous ideology out of the minds of the portion of independent voters who are critical thinkers.

The general message in Biden's statement that sticks in the minds of these voters is in the "what if scenario?" Which team is really best qualified?

The questions they will be asking themselves:

McCain's erratic behavior and age factor in combination with the possibility of Sarah Palin in the Presidential seat in an international crisis scenario?

Or

The sharp younger mind who is displaying more judgment in combination with a Vice President who has years of experience in foreign policy?

I was happy to see Dan Rather move in that direction immediately this AM when he asked the McCain/Palin rambling surrogate this very thing on MJ. I thought he really called it out and the surrogate showed her a-- on the subject.

IMO it will end up backfiring on the McCain campaign as it is hashed out over the next day or so as independent voters will see who the stronger and more stable ticket really is.

1. Right!
McCain doesn't really want to go there. If there is a crisis...if John McCain is somehow unable to lead...Sarah Palin will be sitting in the chair. Is that what we really want??

2. Every time the surrogates open thier mouths on this and the question is asked
they are going to look like ass's and people should see right through it. And it will be the undecideds that count.

Just like their tax "socialism" argument doesn't hold water either in a time of financial crisis. People realize we need "ground up" policies
