Just to make sure we have the record straight, a screaming headline out of the Scooter Libby trial that the mainstream media is playing as a meaningless footnote, if they play it at all.

Ambassador Joe Wilson, an opponent of the president's plan to invade Iraq, let people believe he was sent on a mission by Vice President Dick Cheney to discover if Saddam Hussein was trying to buy nuke bomb material in Africa. We now know from testimony yesterday in the Libby trial that Ambassador Wilson was sent on the CIA mission by his wife, CIA analyst Valerie Plame.


End of story. Dustbin of history. Fraud unmasked.

The decision wasn't hers, and she didn't have the authority to send him. The trip came about because Cheney asked the CIA to double-check its conclusions. Cheney didn't ask Wilson directly to go. This is all old news.
