WCPT Chicago Goes On FM...
Progressive talk in Chicago has gotten a big boost today as WCPT began to simulcast it's programming on three FM stations that can be heard throughout the Chicago area...

http://www.wcpt820.com/fm.html

Dear WCPT Listener,

Even though it’s early to declare victory in the election, we have some news for you that is almost as good! Starting this Monday, Progressive Talk programming moves to the FM dial. Beginning Monday at 5:00 am and going until 9:00 pm, Progressive Talk will be heard on 92.5-FM (Western Suburbs, Rockford and Southwest Wisconsin), 92.7-FM (Northern Suburbs, Chicago North Side and Southern Wisconsin) and 99.9-FM (Southern Suburbs, Chicago South Side and Northwest Indiana). In addition, WCPT-AM at 820-AM will continue to broadcast Progressive Talk from sunrise until sunset. The Dance Factory program will air on the three FM stations from 9:00 pm until 5:00 am, however, you will still be able to hear Progressive Talk after 9:00 pm each night by going to our new web address at www.chicagoprogressivetalk.com.

Here's the new schedule:

:00 am – 8:00 am – The Bill Press Show
8:00 am – 11:00 am – The Stephanie Miller Show
11:00 am – 2:00 pm – The Ed Schultz Show
2:00 pm – 5:00 pm – The Thom Hartmann Show
5:00 pm – 8:00 pm – The Rachel Maddow Show
8:00 pm – 9:00 pm – The Ron Reagan Show
9:00 pm – 5:00 am – Dance Factory

Join us on the FM dial this Monday at 5:00 am at the new home of Progressive Talk, 92.5-FM, 92.7-FM or 99.9-FM, or you can still listen to us at 820-AM.

This is a good move as the AM station signs off at sunset...which creeps to 6pm in November and 5pm in December.

The only regret I have is knowing some people lost their jobs due to this...it's replaced a local music format which wasn't doing very well and replacing it with mostly satellite programs. Here's hoping the new station incorporates more local talk shows as well.

That the station would add Randi Rhodes and Mike Malloy - then it would be perfect.
