Rumor: Obama to put money into Georgia and Kentucky
Just heard this, framed as a rumor, from Chris Kofinis (Dem talking head) on MSNBC.

Why?

Because they can and because there is reason to believe they can make a difference.

Personally, I want to see Saxby Chambliss fucking RUINED.

3. I think they're seeing if they can change the election for Senators and Congress-critters.

2. I want to see Saxby unemployed too....
Jim Martin is getting stronger in the polls, but his fundraising is still waaaaaay behind Saxby's. Visit his site and donate if you like what you see...

4. That's Got To Be Partly for Senate Purposes . . .

. . . and partly to get inside McClown's head and make him think about playing defense with his dwindling time and resources. I don't know much about Lunsford in KY, but I think that an infusion of cash into GA by Barack might just put Jim Martin over the top against the despicable veteran-smearing incumbent. And, hey, with a large enough African-American turnout, you never know . . . .

5. I'm skeptical of Kentucky
If he is putting money in KY, he better also be doing WV, where he can win, IF he works the state hard.

On the other hand, maybe they want to simply close the gap in KY to make McCain sweat. Also, the polls close in KY at 6PM, the first in the nation. Maybe Obama wants to close the gap there, so that the networks wont just call KY immediately as soon as the polls close on election night.

8. Going for the mandate!!!
Great idea to fight in red states where there's potential to close the gap, whether he wins those states or not...as we say on the bayou, it would "lagniappe" (a little extra) to win them, but making those races tighter would lead to larger margin of victory overall.
