Q: Will there be more violence if Obama wins or Loses ????
I AM concerned about this after seeing all the hate in the videos at the Palin rallys....

We are close to a tipping point, I think......

4. I am very worried about the rw idiots if they lose. They are getting
worse every day and there is no one who actually has any control over them. Yes, mcshame and failin palin push their buttons but they do not know how to turn them off. As to our side - if it is stolen there may be violence otherwise I assume we will just set back and take it again. However, we do have a leader and he can ask us to act according to his wishes.

19. It scares me, too. It is supposed to scare everyone, but
there are times when it is necessary and right to do that which is scary. Like all decent people, I hope it will not come to that, but it might. The Greatest Generation faced that terror and triumphed. If we are put in the same position, I can only hope we will show such bravery. If we do not, all our dreams and everything those people fought for will die.

8. Bernie Sanders spoke about this on Bill Maher this evening.
I'm pretty sure it's not going to come to that.
I'm wodering if when Obama addresses the nation
five days before the election, he'll put all these fears to rest.
I think he will.

Because that's the way the right rolls. When they can't win, they cheat. When they can't cheat, they lash out. And it will be exponentially worse because they lost to a black man.

11. Depends on whether the election is _obviously_ stolen.
McCain earns credible victory = minimal (but some) violence.
Obama wins = considerable, racial violence.
McCain very obviously steals election = revolution or martial law and a dictatorship.

I hope I am wrong about this.

12. I can see where you're coming from, I think, but...
I honestly believe we're going to be okay. I didn't feel that way when those videos first came out, but they've gotten enough exposure now that I'm actually feeling better that things WON'T escalate into violence. I'm not ruling out isolated incidents, but violence on a large scale seems unlikely to me.

When Obama wins, some of the far right may make asses of themselves, and they'll be dealt with accordingly by law enforcement. If for some reason the election is stolen -- and even the freepers know that's the only way McCain could come out ahead -- then Obama will set the direction for how we all respond. I trust him to do the right thing. It might be something like a general strike, some kind of peaceful but powerful response that would get the point across. I'd be totally on board with that, even if it meant I'd lose my contracting gig. Can you imagine what the stock market would do on the heels of an OBVIOUSLY stolen election? And then a nationwide strike?
